Popcornopolis Gift Basket Review and Giveaway Holiday Gift Guide

Popcorn has to be one of my favorite snacks. Its simple to make, whole grain, it fills you up and you can add so many great toppings to it. I am also a huge movie fan so of course I need to have popcorn to go with it. We visit our local Popcornopolis often. Its right across from the kids play area and near the Disney store TVs and couches. I have had many days where I let my son play in the play area, then get some popcorn and sit down on the couches to enjoy a bit of Disney magic on the TV screens. They are simple but precious moments to see my son have cheesy fingers from the Cheddar Cheese popcorn with a smile on his face watching Disney movies. We do the same at home but he seems happier to be enjoying it while we are out around other kids. He tries to share his popcorn sometimes with other kids but mainly he and I enjoy it together.

I mainly only purchase the Cheddar Cheese one for my son since its the easiest for him to eat and there is not a lot of toppings for him to have to bite through. But for me I love all the toppings the more goodies on it the better! Thats why I love Popcornopolis! They have the best flavored popcorn I have ever eaten. We used to get the Holiday tins that you can get at the grocery store but they are sub par compare to Popcornopolis popcorn tins. Its like having a candy store that decorates your popcorn at the perfect level. The popcorn is not over whelmed by the toppings but a compliment to the delicious popcorn.

For our Holiday Gift guide I was able to try a variety of scrumptious flavors of popcorn packaged in an Old Tyme 5 Cone Popcorn Gift Basket. Three of the five I am already a fan of since I like to try new flavors when we go but two of them it was the first time trying them.

Three classic flavors that I like are the Cheddar Cheese, Kettle Corn and Caramel Corn. These are great flavors for any popcorn fan. Who would not love those flavors! When I opened the gift basket those ones were instantly allocated to who gets what. My son the Cheddar Cheese, my husband the Kettle Corn and me the Caramel corn. These are the ones no matter what I am in the mood for. Perfect for movie watching at home too. We of course shared with each other, well except my son! We decided we would invite over my mother in law for a gourmet popcorn taste test. She also enjoyed the 3 classic flavors as we did.

Then I put out the White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice and Candy Cane Crunch the oohs and ahhs started. None of us had tried these two flavors before. I have tried a few of the flavors like White Cheddar, Zebra Chocolate and Cinnamon Toast and they are awesome too. I dont think there is a flavor I have tried that I dont like. The White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice is delicious and it taste just like the name. The smoothness of a creamy white chocolate with the nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin pie flavor in the back ground. SO good! This flavor is only available in November and December making it even more special. The Candy Cane Crunch for me was epic! I love mint and chocolate combos. My family however did not like it as much as I did. But I said awesome I get the whole cone then! LOL its the same with candy canes they dont like those either. I blame my husbands side of the family for that. Its a perfect holiday popcorn in book.

This is how the Popcornopolis site describe the Candy Cane Cruch:
"Salty-sweet Kettle Corn, dark and white chocolate (infused with peppermint), and a dusting of crushed minty-fresh candy canes."

Perfection if you ask me!

The Candy Cane Crunch and White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice

A whole gift basket of flavored gourmet popcorn from Popcornopolis would be a great holiday gift for your own family or to give as a gift. I think the gift box of individual sleeves would go great in a stocking, plus you can have a different flavor for each family member. More and more people are wanting a delicious experience for the holidays rather than socks, a tie or another sweater, get them Popcornopolis instead! If you have a local store near you then get a gift card and make a fun day of popcorn eating out together like my family and I do. If your going to splurge a little let it be on something this tasty!

Since Popcornopolois is awesome they are offering all of my readers FREE SHIPPING with the promo code: FRUGAL

(I am a fanatic for free shipping so I was very excited this was being offered to all of you)

ReUse It Glass Water Bottle Review Holiday Gift Guide

Since my son has been born I have been much more aware of the trash we make and the plastics we use. Part of the time it was me analyzing how much disposal items like water bottles and sandwich bags cost and the other was a concern for the planet my son and his children and their children would be born into. (Feels kinda crazy to think my own son will be a grown up one day, hes only 2!) My son is his own little planet saver in his own right. He hates trash. He gets annoyed at the park or river if he sees trash. He has to pick it and give it to me and make sure I throw it away. Over the summer he was starting to walk to the trash can himself. He makes me laugh and smile that he is concerned about littering. One thing myself I hate to see is plastic bottles on the ground. We live near rivers that flow to the Pacific ocean and I hate to think that they might end up in the beautiful Pacific and in our local rivers. I have been working on cutting our plastic bottle consumption by buying drinks in larger bottles then filling up reusable containers.

I have tried plastic reusable but they can often scratch and be harder to clean out. We have even tried metal bottles that work good but would get very slippery when a cold drink had been in there for some time. With a glass bottle I can use a bottle brush to get out even the tiniest particles of my smoothies!

I really like the Glass Water Bottles we tried from ReUse It. They are large enough to carry my breakfast smoothies and perfect for taking my son some milk on the go. We use them for water, juice, hot coco and even last week soup we took to the park on a sunny but cool day.

The glass bottles are made by Lifefactory and have the coolest silicone sleeves on them. I poured ice cold Apple Juice in one of them and left it on the counter for over an hour. I wanted to see how much condensation would build up and if it would still be easy to grip. It past the test! Even my mother in law was impressed and now wants one for Christmas. Thankfully ReUse It is having a Holiday Sale so I just might get her a reusable glass bottle.

Product info:
  • BPA-free
  • Free of phthalates, PVC and polycarbonate
  • Silicone sleeve is free of plastics and 100% non-toxic
  • No chemical leaching and no metallic taste
  • Wide mouth for ice and easy cleaning
  • Bottle made in France, sleeve made in USA
  • Dishwasher safe

Glass water bottles by Lifefactory are a beautifully-designed alternative to plastic bottles and disposable water bottles. And, unlike stainless steel or cheap reusable bottles, there's no metallic or chemical aftertaste. Durable glass construction withstands daily use and provides fresh-tasting water - just like your regular drinking glasses at home. Colorful silicone sleeve protects your bottle and is easy to grip. Great for hot or cold beverages.

The only thing I would have liked is if it had a extra top that you could screw on that had a smaller sipping hole for when you are drinker warmer beverages. But they are wonderful bottles and great for home and on the go.

For more info about ReUse It and sales updates you can follow them on twitter and be a fan on facebook.

Our Holiday Giving Traditions Disney Champions for Kids #DisneyCFK #CBias

All year long as a family we try to do our best to give back. Through donations, food drives, diaper drives and coat drives we do our best to help in the community. We are blessed with everything we have and always want to be sure are sharing our blessings. Since my husband and I have been married, long before we had kids, we make sure each Christmas to purchase some toys to give to Tots for Toys and SleepTrain for Foster Kids. A few years when we can we also donate to Coats for Kids. One year we participated in Operation Christmas Child where we were able to pack shoe boxes with small toys to have sent children all over the world. It makes us feel so good as a family to be able to give not just a toy but the happiness a kid feels to be included in the joy of receiving a gift from someone who cares. We never get to meet the kids that we donate the items for but we know in our hearts it must make them smile so big. The last two Christmases with our son we have taken him to donate toys and coats. We know as parents it can be tough sometimes to have the extra money for toys and kids grow so fast needing a new coat each winter. My son was only a month old the first time we donated but I still took him bundled up in his stroller to drop off toys. The second year he met some Star Wars Storm Troopers when we dropped off toys and a coat. It was nice of the company to provide the entertainment.

One of the things that drives us to donate is that my husband's family had a tough time during the holidays when he was a kid and his mom would have to get his toys from donation places. She was so grateful for the programs that would help her to get toys from Santa to give to him. She would wait in long lines in the cold just to make sure her son felt the joy of getting a holiday gift. So many families have lost jobs or reduced incomes making it tough to have extra money for toys. We try our best all year long if we spot a great price on a toy or coat to buy it and set aside. Even gifts given to our own son we donate as well. He has many toys and being able to share them with other kids is great. I look forward to when he is old enough to really understand the joy of giving toys to other kids so they can all have fun. Each year we like to try to find new organizations to give to so we can share our experience about different charities with family and friends.

This year we have the opportunity to support a great organization Champions for Kids. We are going to shop at our local Walmart to purchase a stocking and stuff it with great Disney themed holiday gifts. I think this is a great idea and am happy to be apart of it. I know my son loves to shop with me so I will take him with me so he can see we buy toys for other kids too. I plan on donating our Disney stocking to child at a local Home Start program that helps homeless families transition to permanent affordable housing.

To help celebrate the Champions for Kids Disney Stocking project there will be a twitter party on December 15, 2011 at 9pm EST (6 pm PST if your on the West Coast like me!) You can follow the party by using the hashtag #DisneyCFK . You can follow Champion for Kids on twitter @championsforkids and be a fan on Facebook.

You can be apart of the Champions for Kids Disney Stocking Stuffer Project by signing up on the Champions for Kids December Simple Service project page.

Miche Bag Review Holiday Gift Guide

There was one major thing on my Holiday List this year. A Purse. But not just any purse I wanted the MICHE BAG. Don't know what a MICHE BAG is? Oh dear you are missing out. Let me tell you about the MICHE.... You start with a Base Bag—Classic, Demi, Prima or Petite then you add a stylish shell to the outside. They have so many shells for all of your many looks!! How the shell works is it has two large magnets on the inside of the top of the bag (don't worry they are inside the material, you will not see the magnets) so when you go to change your purse for the day it literally takes seconds, perfect for us busy Moms. I also find that I get bored with a purse if I am carrying it longer than a few months, I know it is a sickness. So with the MICHE I can change out my purse for a fraction of the price of buying a new one every few months, LOVE IT.

When I was looking for a new purse I knew that it had to be stylish, yet big enough to throw everything I might need it. Sometimes carrying a diaper bag is just so daunting, sometimes a gal just wants a great purse on her arm! Right?

For the first step in selecting my MICHE BAG I went with The Prima Base Bag, knowing it was just the right size with or without diaper, snacks and a few toys.

Now for the fun part, the SHELLS!! So each bag has shells according to the Base Bag you chose, I went with the Prima so I got to check out all of the beautiful shells they have to offer. There is just so many it really is hard to pick just a few. The great thing about the MICHE is that you don't have to buy all at once. You can pick out a few and always add to your collection as you may need or want them or as the seasons change :) One of my favorite things about the MICHE is that they name all of their purses with a fun and sometimes racy name!

For the Holiday Season I went with the Lexi, I love the red and green with a touch of animal like print! SEXY!

For a more subdued look, and one that would go with a lot of my winter coats I liked the Rosalyn.

Then looking towards the Spring and Summer I went with the Allie, I just love the yellow. Not too bright, just the right color to welcome the new season.

Here is a few pictures of the real deal, it is even better looking in person!! Same base I just changed out the shell.

Ok so do you now love the MICHE BAG and want one of your very own? Get one or two or three today, you will LOVE it! You will also love their story of how they came to be, check it out.

You can find more information and about your local Miche bag representative by liking them on Facebook and following them on Twitter.

Sound + Sleep Adaptive Sounds Sleep Therapy System Review and Giveaway Holiday Gift Guide

Sometimes even through I am beyond exhausted I have a tough time falling asleep. My mind is thinking so many things at once I cant seem to fall asleep. I like to tell myself its because I am brilliant and my mind is a wheel of awesomeness but in reality its stress and making mental to do lists is what keeps me up. An un-rested Mom can be a non fun day for everyone! I am the type of person who considers alternative ways to resolve something than taking a pill. (although I am not against it I know many people need them I like to try non medicine ways first) When I get a cold I do Sprite and Chicken Noodle soup! Funny I know but I do like to try to help my body help it self. I tried doing stress relieving exercises but all I did was think about what I should be doing or what I need to do in the morning. After a bit of online research I wanted to try a Sleep Therapy System. I knew if I just filled my head with a soothing noise rather than my own thoughts it would override my inner voice.

I tried the Sound + Sleep Machine and it worked great. I did have to at first tell myself to listen since I am an over thinker but after a few nights I have been falling asleep more easily. Now staying asleep with a 2 year old who asks for juice at 3 am is another story. But I have tried using the machine with him in the room. He liked all the buttons and oh my he pushed them all! I plan to try it during his naps to see if he wakes early the soothing sounds will relax him back to sleep.

I like the customizable timer since I am the type of person who cannot sleep if something is left on. When we were first married I drove my husband mad with unplugging the toaster every day.

Product Features
  • SOUND+SLEEP helps you achieve a rich, natural drug-free sleep, that can replenish your body and mind.
  • The Adaptive Sound difference.

The ONLY sleep therapy system that "listens" to your environment and automatically adjusts sound levels.
  • Recharge. Rejuvenate. Refresh.

Boost energy, feel alert, improve health and promote your body's natural defenses with a better night's sleep.
They even have tips a for helping your little one sleep. I know for me my son wakes up often in the night from loud train noises or oddly it being simply too quiet. He seems to sleep better if there is a soothing noise on. The Sound + Sleep Machine also won the PTPA award, Parent Tested Parent Approved.

The Sound Profiles I like are Ocean, Rainfall, Meadow and Fireplace. The ones I did not like are Train and City. Trains are one thing that drive me nuts at night. I hear trains ramming into one another and tooting their horns all night at the rail yard near by. Often times a train will park right on a meter that dings over and over for like 30 minutes. Its maddening! Thankfully the Sound + Sleep machine can adapt its level to outside noises.

Funkoos also has some sweet sets, like this Organic Baby Bodysuit and Pant Set (Animal Stack) -

Here is a little background on Funkoos from their web site-

Our Story

In the summer of 2008, we went shopping for clothing for our newborn children and went looking specifically for clothes that were both chemical and pesticide free. The organic clothing we did find was really expensive and average quality. We thought there had to be quality, affordable organic clothing, but there wasn’t. So like many entrepreneurs, we set out to give astute parents a choice.
From the beginning, we vowed to manufacture our Funkoos brand clothing from the finest organic, chemical free-fibers. Our styles are always fun, simple, and super-friendly to young children’s sensitive skin. Our mission is singular – to manufacture our clothes in 100% fair-trade work environments, keep our clothing purely organic, and give a portion of our profits back to the planet through our many charitable causes.
We hope you and your little ones enjoy all of our clothes for years to come.

Seattle Sundries Handcrafted Soaps Review Holiday Gift Guide

I am a big believer in "buying local" and supporting small businesses whenever possible. So I was pleased to come across a company called Seattle Sundries that operates out of the very charming Ballard neighborhood. Seattle Sundries makes and sells handcrafted, all natural soaps and other personal care items. All artisan soaps are made in small batches and cut by hand with great attention to quality and detail. Every product is made using only natural oils, butters, botanicals and 100 % essential oils.

I have used both Exotic Escapade and Cowpoke Soaps and really enjoyed the lovely scents they gave off. The soap gently cleans well but without any harshness or chemicals. They also have something called Solid Lotions that are little round bars of lotion that nourish and sooth your skin. I used the Vanilla and Lavender scented lotion bar and it was out of this world. I absolutely love this combination of fragrance. Seattle Sundries offers twenty four different kinds of soap, all with charming names for each one. Who wouldn't want to try a soap called Naughty Nellie, Lavender Lover, or Gardeners' Gold?

Aromas of frankincense and myrrh

Scents of eucalyptus lemon, cedarwood and lavender with ground buckwheat

All of these items come attractively packaged in old-fashioned, sweet wrappings and tins. There are gift sets for all occasions, and private label and custom made soaps are also available. Visit their website at seattlesundries.com to see all of the products and for more information.

Made with shea butter, wheat germ oil and sweet almond oil.

You can learn more about Seattle Sundries and the owner Anne on her Facebook and Twitter pages.

Softsoap Bar Soap Review and Giveaway Holiday Gift Guide

I have sensitive skin so I am a bit picky about what bar soap I use. Normally its a plain one that has no scent. That type of soap can tend to be drying to my skin especially in the winter. I like to try new bar soaps during the winter months to hydrate my skin but also feel more festive with a light scent on my skin. I have used Softsoap in the liquid hand soap but have not tried their bar soap. Since it does not irritate my hands I thought it would be great to try on the rest of my body with a bar soap.

I tried two Softsoap Bar Soaps. The Juicy Pomegranate and Mango Infusions and Sweet Honeysuckle and Orange Peel. I liked them both they made my skin softer and the Orange Peel was my favorite. I loved the bright color of the orange and the scent was great. They would make a great stocking stuffer for a teen or adult.

Introduce your skin to deliriously sweet mango and natural extracts of ripe red pomegranate, nature's anti-oxidant rich fruit. Unwrap and unleash waves of intensely juicy scent, each time you cleanse.

The scent of sweet honeysuckle flowers splashed with tangy oranges — this is a fragrance explosion for energizing body and mind. Formulated with natural orange peel extracts for a truly citrus experience.

You can find Softsoap products at Walmart.

Another great stocking stuff for a teen or adult would be Colgate Optic White Toothpaste. I have tried this product in the past with good results. It would be great to go with all the candy and treats we all eat during the holidays. Teeth as White as Snow, is that a Holiday song yet?!
