Perfect Outdoor Labor Day Party with Kmart

For my family the backyard is an extension of our home. I love to sit outside near the garden, put my feet up and relax. Nothing is more fun to be in the fresh air, birds chirping and my son running around the yard with the dog. As the summer comes to an end we are happy for the memories and love to celebrate the summer with one last party. Labor Day marks the official wind down of summer but since we have great weather until late September it also is a reminder to have as much fun as we can until the rain starts. Many of our friends have kids that start school and Labor Day is a great time to have a last fun party of the summer.

Before my son was born a few years ago we would have a Labor Day party at our local river. With a toddler and friends that also have small kids its much more fun to have an at home Outdoor Party. Having the right outdoor living items can make a party a success. For my family we have a small bbq but for a party we would love one of the big grills from Kmart. I read a few reviews of the items and would love to have the red Kennmore 4 burner grill. Red is my favorite color for this summer and Kmart has many great items to go along with my color scheme.

Right now my back yard has a pool, two garden beds and scattered seating. For a perfect party a new dining set, a gazebo, a grill and a swing would be wonderful. A nice grill is the prefect way to serve food at an outdoor party. Ribs, steak, corn, veggie kabobs and even grilled watermelon are delicious grilled summer food. For the kids a croquet set, shaved ice maker and a smores basket would keep them happily entertained. I have wonderful memories as a kid using our shaved ice maker and playing croquet. Classic outdoor fun!

We loved playing this as kids. I forgot about this classic game until I saw it in the background of one page in the Kmart Catalog. The catalog was full of ideas for summer fun.

I looked online at the Kmart Outdoor Living Catalog to get ideas for items we would need for our Perfect Outdoor Labor Day Party. Another great place to get inspiration for your outdoor living space is the Kmart Outdoor Living site that is full of ideas from real people in all design types. Cisco Linksys EA2700 Wireless Router Review and Giveaway

Today's typical home includes many electronics, including computers, laptops, game systems, Smartphones and more. With all these pieces of equipment comes wires and the endless problem of how to deal with them. Having my grandkids come over often I want to make sure the cords for our entertainment will be out of the way. I want to be able to easily take my laptop to the kitchen to use a recipe and then onto the patio to read an eBook. My daughter has recommended I try a Cisco Linksys product since she loves the one she has. Since I rely on the internet for work and entertainment I thought it would be best to go with a brand my family trusts.

The Linksys EA2700 wireless router is the perfect answer for making the ultimate connected home possible. This would also be a great item to get your family in the back to school mode. College, high school and even grade school kids need internet connection and a router like the Linksys EA2700 will help you easily create your own home network for all your devices. Linksys has a few Back to School specials and Free Shipping on some items on their Online Store.

Benefits of the new EA2700 include unrivaled speed and is ideal for:

• Networking larger households and home offices

• Surfing the Web, emailing and printing wirelessly

• Connecting multiple users and devices at high speed

• Streaming multimedia and gaming

Being new to setting up a wireless internet system I found the Linksys FAQ page to be very helpful. I suggest reading it if you have any questions before or after your purchase.

Using Mom's Back To School Guide To Shop At Walmart For Kindergarten School Supplies

This year back to school means something very special to me. My oldest grandson JJ is going to kindergarten. I'm thrilled, sad, and amazed all at once. It seems like the years went by so quickly, and only yesterday he was still only a baby.

Going to kindergarten means shopping for school supplies and I was very happy to volunteer to take him to Walmart and get him what he needed. What is Back to School without Elmer's School Glue and Elmer's Glue Sticks? They are absolute musts at any age and we are going to stock up on them today.

Back to school shopping is a whole lot easier if you use the Mom's Back To School Guide. It has all kinds of  wonderful suggestions and tips on buying great products for back to school. #momsguide

There's a whole section on great Elmer's products and the Elmer's 1st Day App, which is a free download.
Check it out and see how it can make your child's first day of school even more memorable.

We loaded up our cart with plenty of school supplies. Did you know that Elmer's makes a lot more products than just glue? One of our favorites is Elmer's Painters Markers. My grandson and I are going to use the markers and other things we are buying to make some special back to school crafts.

We got lots of Elmer's glue and glue sticks because I know he will need a lot for school, but he also uses  them all the time for the craft projects he does with his Mom and Dad at home.

Of course, no back to school shopping trip would be complete without a new backpack. Even after all these years, little boys still love Superman and Batman. So do the big boys!

My grandson wanted to make a present for his kindergarten teacher. I suggested to him that we also make some containers to hold all of his new pencils, crayons and markers so that he wouldn't lose them.
We have gathered up all our supplies to make our craft projects. We are using an old paper-covered coffee can and some smaller cans. We also need lots of pencils for this project!

Here is my grandson hard at work on his special present for his teacher. He was very patient and careful trying to glue on the pencils. We really enjoy doing all kinds of crafts together, including painting and making things out of old and recycled stuff. We use lots of Elmer's glue and glue sticks for our projects.
He wanted me to say that is not his sippy cup, but his little brother's. He's definitely a big guy now!

We love using the Elmer's Painters Markers for craft projects. They really last a long time and you can use them on all kinds of surfaces. Finishing touches are being added to a drawing.

Here is our finished projects. My grandson is so proud of his Teacher's gift. She can put pencils or anything else in it. I think it came out so beautiful. The cheerful covered cans will store all of his pencils, markers and crayons.
We had a great time using our Mom's Back To School Guide and shopping at Walmart for Elmer's glue and other Elmer's products. We are getting so excited as the first day of kindergarten gets closer.

I think this will be a wonderful year for both of us!

Ellery Homestyles Waverly Comforter Review

A few months ago we bought a new bed frame and mattress for our room. The bed is a bigger size than the last one and I knew we would need to get all new bedding for it. I find it exciting to be able to go a new direction with our bedroom decor. Shopping online for bedding and home decor can be so much easier! With my toddler it can get wild trying to find the patterns I like, price compare and decide. At home I can start an activity for him and shop from my computer. Wonderful!

We looked online at a few places and the decide to look at the company that we have some great curtains from, Ellery Homestyles. I found that Ellery Homestyles carries many brands of Home Decor. Waverly makes more traditional style of fabrics for its bedding, window coverings and home decor. I liked the look of the Waverly Grand Bazaar Bedding Collection. The rich colors were perfect for our dark brown head board and frame.

I really like the design. It gives a nice look to out new bed. What was surprising is how comfortable it is. Its durable but so soft and comfy. My son has been taking it into the living room to put on the couch while he watches a movie. So cute! With the fall and winter just around the corner its the perfect time to start shopping for this years comforters.

You can buy this set or other bedding sets by Waverly at

I also saw a really cute Blues and Greens style Waverly Bedding that I would love for our second bedroom. We have the perfect paint color on the walls for the bedding.

For more information about the brands by Ellery Homestyles you can follow them on Twitter and be a fan on Facebook.

Oasap Fashion Blogger: Red Purse & Straw Hat Review

It has been my Birthday promise to myself to be more fashionable. I want to wear brighter colors, bolder colors and more dresses. For my 20s I was laid back kinda wear whatever I had, mainly tshirts and jeans. Since turning 31 in July I feel like I not only want to but need to be more dressed up. It makes me feel more productive and more willing to be myself. Odd how that works, I always thought people were silly to say how you look is how you feel. I want to look and feel great!

Red has been a color I have avoided over the years. I thought it was too attention grabbing or too bold for me. I always love to have purse options. But oddly they were black or brown. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted a Red, Yellow or Orange purse. I love all of those colors. I felt Red was a great start to bolder colors and its a classic that never goes out of style. Plus I had the help of Facebook fans on deciding a color.

I selected the Red Bownot Detail Clasp Closure Briefcase crafted in PU, featuring a grab handle to the top, oversized bowknot detail to fold over flap, gold-tone clasp closure to front, a detachable long shoulder chain with lobster clip closure.
  • Size:
    Length: 31cm
    Height: 27cm
    Width: 12cm
    Handle Height: 11cm
    Strap Length: 57-115cm
  • Color: black,orange,red
  • Fabric: PU
  • Washing: 40 degree machine wash, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, cool iron on reverse, do not dry clean.

The purse is large just as I wanted. I carry many items in my purse for myself and my son. I like the bold red but a touch of sweetness with the bow. Perfect to use a Statement to a classic black and white dress.

In the last few years I have become a hat person. Mainly from the encouragement of my husband that hats are beautiful and I look great in them. For the summer I have purchased a few nice straw hats. I love the summer feel of a straw hat for fashion and keeping the sun off my face.

I selected the Contrast Lace Panel Plaited Hat with cut out detail made of straw, featuring contrast lace panel to brim, straw plaited design with cut out detail, bow-knot embellishment for my newest summer hat. I look forward to wearing it to the park, summer outing events and lounging by the garden.
  • Size:
    Head Girth: 56cm
    Cap Peak: 12cm
    Brim Width: 10cm
  • Color: white&light brown
  • Fabric: Straw
  • Washing: 40 degree machine wash, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, cool iron on reverse, do not dry clean.

I like the delicate look of the lace and bow on a simple hat. Its cute and functional.

Oasap has tons of cute clothing, purses, hats shoes and more. They even predict that uneven hem lines will be hot this fall. Along with Florescent, sounds a bit like my childhood in the late 80s LOL. They have some cute British style Union Jack items too.

Red, White & Blue Fashion and Food

I have had so much fun watching the Olympics games so far! The games are something I always look forward to. This year has been very special to share with my son. He loves watching the swimming, gymnastics, shot put (go figure the kid loves to throw things) and the volleyball. He has done the cutest tumbles and volleyball stances in the living room. He yells "lymipics" (he leaves out the O) in the swimming pool and kicks like crazy. Its so fun getting caught up in all the USA cheering. He even knows to put his hand over his heart when the anthem is played and clap when its done. He makes my husband and I also salute and have our hand over our heart, not sure where he got the salute from but its so cute!

For me I have been seeing the buzz on the commercials and in store ads of all the Red, White and Blue items. What a better time to shop for those colors! I have seen some cute fashion and home decor. I cant stop thinking Red, White and Blue.

JCP  Red & Silver Nugget Necklace

Macy's DKNY Jeans White Plus Size Dress, Sleeveless Striped A-Line

Target Women's Mossimo Blue Papina Peep Toe Shoe

I like the touch of gold like all the metals USA has won!

What would be funner to have after shopping for Red, White and Blue items? COOKIES! I found a recipe from Cookie Madness for Red, White and Blueberry Cookies. These look tasty!
