We Don't Have Blue Skies But We Have Blue Trees
Today it is grey, rainy, and chilly. A typical Seattle almost summer day. But over the weekend I saw these crazy looking blue trees in downtown Seattle. I have yet to find out who did this and why.
Is this someone's idea of art?
My daughter Megan and I felt like we were walking in a blue forest, and it was pretty cool. Seattle is definitely a city of surprises, and strange art.
I feel lucky to call it home.

Brave in Theaters June 22nd
I am really looking forward to the movie BRAVE coming to theaters. I want to see this one. It looks like a great film.
“Brave”
follows the heroic journey of Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong
daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor
(voice of Emma Thompson). Determined
to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred
to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin
(voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson)
and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s
actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when
she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she
is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to harness
all of her skills and resources – including her clever and mischievous
triplet brothers – to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late,
discovering the meaning of true bravery.

My Saturday Spent Shopping For Vintage Clothes
Yesterday my daughter Megan and I spent the day going to vintage boutiques and thrift shops.
When did I become this lover of all things old, recycled, and, truth be told, second hand stuff? I used to turn up my nose at all this, but now I love it, and the thrill of looking for a specific item is addicting.
The windows of this shop called Pretty Parlor really were very charming. I love that Seattle is filled with so many shops like this. We spent the day wandering from shop to shop and looking at everything. I was actually looking for some light summer sweaters but didn't find any I liked. But that was ok because it's a good excuse to go out next weekend and look again.
How about you, have you caught the vintage bug yet? Do you love buying vintage? Do tell!
And have a great Sunday!

Toddler Conversations
While I was at Target looking for summer clothing for my son I overheard a funny conversation between a grandma and her grand daughter who looked about the same age as my son, a toddler.
Grandma: " Does your ear hurt or does your ear itch?"
Toddler: "No"
Grandma: "What do you mean No?
Grandma: " Does your ear hurt or does your ear itch?"
Toddler: "No"
Grandma: "I dont understand you"
After this goes back and forth for a few minutes.
Then Grandma sighs and says: "Oh Ok!" "Does your ear hurt?"
Toddler: "No"
Grandma: "Does your ear itch?"
Toddler claps and squeals: "YES!"
Then the Grandma itched her ear for her. This made me laugh!! When talking with my son I go through the same thing. I have to remember he is just a little guy and I need to ask him one question at a time. He understands when I ask him one or the other just does not yet have the way to tell me which question of the two is his answer for. Asking him one thing at a time makes it easier on the both of us. Oddly this also works for my husband too. So many times I say this or that and I get "Yes". Then I say yes to which one. This annoys me to no end! lol So now I keep it simple for everyone and keep it to a toddler level conversation.
