Favorite Things My Gap Jean Jacket That Can Go Anywhere

I love my Gap jacket. What can you say about something that is so easy to dress up or down and is timeless? I'm taking a new look at my wardrobe and getting rid of things that no longer fit me or my life. Like most of us, I have far too many things that I don't wear or don't want anymore. So I'm spring cleaning my closet and donating what I no longer need.

Of course, I'm keeping my Gap jacket and I'll be wearing it a lot more now that the weather is getting warmer.

I remember when the Gap was just a tiny hole in the wall store filled with only jeans. Yes, I'm really dating myself by saying this but it's true! A few walls of jeans and that was it. How far they have come. Me too, I guess. Love my Gap jacket and it definitely remains one of my favorite things.

Let the Gardening Begin!

I have been waiting for the nights to not be so cold to buy any plants for the garden. I did pick up some new gloves, a little hand shovel and seeds but have not planted anything just yet. Today while we were out shopping I found two cherry tomato plants that I had to have. Its just not Easter unless we have veggies growing outside. Tomatoes are one of my favorite things to eat. I love them fresh from the vine with cracked pepper over them. So good!

This old chair is a DIY on my list. I want to re paint it and fix the seat with a hole in it to turn it into a planter for the back yard. I saw some cool ideas on Pinterest and its on my to do list. For now I will just sit these on here off the ground so the local cats dont get it.

I am going out in the morning to buy planters and some soil for these plants. I did not plan on buying anything just yet, but the gardening at my house has begun!

Feed Your Zoo At Home Family Movie Night

I love spending time with my grandsons. We decided to have a fun family movie night and watch the movie "We Bought A Zoo".

I went to Walmart to buy the movie and some pizzas for dinner. The movie looks like it will be a good one. I saw the trailer and it really made me want to watch it. This will be a fun night for them and I'm turning it into a little party for the boys.

I also bought some delicious Del Monte fruit cups to make a healthy treat for us to eat while we watch the movie. Of course I couldn't forget my own "big cat" so I got the kitty some yummy treats of her own. She's very picky but I think she will like these.

Here's all the little monkeys enjoying their pizza. They are excited to start watching the movie and eat the treat I am making them, but first they have to eat all their pizza.

We go to the zoo in Seattle all the time, so the boys are familiar with lions, tigers, and monkeys, which I'm assuming will be in the movie. They even like looking at the snakes and alligators at the zoo!

Who doesn't get messy when they eat their pizza, right? This little guy loves pizza.

I made a super simple, no cooking, treat for us to eat as we watch the movie. I just took a slice of pound cake and spooned on some vanilla yogurt. Then I drained the juice from the fruit cups and put them on top of the cake and yogurt. Super fast and easy! And it actually tasted really good. I'll definitely be eating this again. I really liked the Del Monte fruit cup of peaches with cinnamon and brown sugar.
Del Monte fruit cups are already a great price and First for Women magazine is featuring a $0.50-off coupon.

The boys loved their special treat. They didn't watch all the parts of the movie because it really was for older children. I liked it a lot and I thought it was really heartwarming. But when the animals came on the screen, that got their attention.

The lion really caught their attention. Mine, too! Such a beautiful animal. Even though the story line was too mature for the boys, it was still fun having our own little movie party.

My daughter Samantha really enjoyed watching the movie, she thought it was great. Ever since she had little Ashley, she and her husband have not gone to the movies, so this was nice for her too. The fruit cup treat was a hit all the way around!

This little girl is already an amazing actress. She practically steals every scene. Isn't she adorable? "We Bought A Zoo" is a warm and wonderful movie that I can't wait to watch again.

Last but not least is the kitty. We didn't forget about her! We opened up a tasty Meow Mix cat treat for her. Here she is looking up at the screen. Her favorite scenes were of course, the lions and tigers. She did eat her treat, as well as the second one.

There is a $4.00-off coupon that can be used to buy "We Bought A Zoo" with the purchase of any 2 participating Del Monte pet products. Del Monte pet products are being featured in Women's World magazine and Parade magazine.

We had a great dinner and a movie night with lots of fun. We'll have to do this again soon!

We had a fun and wild night watching We Bought a Zoo with the family and the cat! You can read my Google+ Story about my shopping trip to buy Del Monte Fruit Cups, Meow Mix and the movie.

Boba Baby Carrier Review and Giveaway

Baby carriers are so cute and so convenient. Having my son close to me and not wondering around makes me feel like he is safer. He is a toddler now and oh my can he run! When we go out to the farmers market or to an outdoor event with large crowds I worry about him not wanting to hold hands. He is insistent that he is a big boy who does not hold hands. But a piggy back ride, well that is beyond fun! The wiggle worm he is a traditional piggy back ride was out of the question, plus his little arms and legs are too short for it. I knew we needed a carrier that I could carry him on my back safely.

I selected the Boba Baby Carrier as the carry we need since it holds a toddler up to 45lbs. Much higher of a weight limit than most carriers. My sister Sam has a Boba for her son and she loves it. She suggested to me to try one for my son. The new Kangaroo pattern is so cute. I told my son he can be my little joey and go for a ride in the carrier. He thought it was a great idea!

At first my son thought I was nuts trying to put him into the carrier on my back. He was making me laugh with his Uh No and Help Me as we were trying to figure it out. I re-read the instructions and realized I was doing it wrong. (Note to self, make sure you read instructions before involving a wiggling toddler.)

I had my husband help me put my son in the carrier on my back. I have a bit of a weaker arm on my left side making it hard to do it by myself but once he was in my son was having a blast. I had to explain to him to not pull mommies pony tail but after that he was hanging out enjoying being in the carrier.

We went to our local Farmers Market and he rode in the Boba Baby Carrier just fine. It made it easier to get the items I needed first and then let him down to walk around. I know the carrier will come in handy for times I am out alone and need to have my son on my back to be able to get things done. Plus when my husband and I expand our family in the future we will have an adorable carrier for the new baby.

Pin Me Up Scotty

I know I am not the only Pinterest addict out there! Its like being in another world once you have a cup of coffee and get to pinning. I have always loved photography and am the type of person who keeps article clippings, recipe cards and cute stuff I see neatly kept in a binder or folder.

Pinterest is like the oh I should have thought of that site! Its catching on quick. I like to see what my family and close friends pin. Its like peeking into their thoughts.

I even found things that are a reflection of my dorky side. Such as crochet Star Trek characters. Now how cool is that! lol So join us at Frugal Family Tree and our new venture Popcorn and Pearls on Pinterest and get to pinning. Or as some might say Pin Me Up Scotty!
