Hammacher Schlemmer Review

Are you looking for that special gift for that special someone? If so I have just the place for you. Hammacher Schlemmer has great gifts for everyone on your Christmas and Holiday List. They have been in business for 164 years! There is so much to chose from that I know you will have no problem finding the perfect gift. Whether you are looking for Electronics, Things for the Home, Toys, for Travel, Holiday and more

For Christmas this year I really wanted and needed a new coffee maker. Along with a few must haves for my new coffee maker, I wanted something that would freshly brew the beans in the morning without me having to get out the grinder and then transferring it to the coffee maker. I am barely functioning at that hour and the easier the better.  The Perfect Portion Grind and Brew Coffee Maker is seriously the perfect coffee maker. This coffee pot does just that but you can also use pre-ground coffee as well, I love that feature for a back up . Another great feature that I like is that included is a double-walled stainless steel thermal carafe. It is not hot to the touch when the little ones are grabbing at the counter top and it keeps your coffee hot for hours. We program it at night with the beans waiting to be grind, dropped in and brewed to perfection. And you can make single cups of coffee as well! Is it ok to love you coffee pot? Because I do! They carry other great coffee pots you can find here in the Kitchen & Entertaining section.

Here is a bit about the Coffee Maker from their site-
This is the only grind-and-brew coffee maker that automatically brews one to 12 cups with the flavor profile and intensity you choose. Simply select the number of cups, choose from the five flavor profiles (light to bold), and select one of the 7 coffee strengths; the machine automatically grinds the perfect amount of coffee and dispenses the proper amount of water to brew coffee to the chosen specifications. The unit eliminates the guesswork of combining the correct proportions of coffee and water and brews directly into a cup, a travel mug up to 7 1/2" H, or the included double-walled stainless steel thermal carafe. The integrated burr grinder produces an even grind to help ensure optimal flavor extraction and grinds the beans just before brewing to maximize freshness. The coffee maker is programmable up to 24 hours in advance to ensure coffee is ready when you wake up. Includes a reusable filter. Also brews pre-ground coffee. 16 1/4" H x 14" W x 9" D. (17 3/4 lbs.)

I was also looking for something beautiful and lightweight to carry my e-reader (and future iPad) in.  The iPad Leather Backpack was a great choice. It is durable has a padded internal pocket for my e-reader and a separate main compartment that fits files, paper pads, my wallet and magazines and anything else I might need on my day trip. I can strap my Backpack on and be on my way, very convenient. Not to mention the tan leather looks amazing, just what I was looking for this year!

Here is a bit about the Backpack from their site-
This is the leather backpack with a padded internal pocket designed especially to hold an iPad or e-reader. Made from top-grain Colombian vachetta leather with natural variations in pigment and texture, the backpack's protective pocket is large enough to hold an iPad even when cradled in a case. It has a separate main compartment that fits files, paper pads and magazines, and a side pocket that is slightly larger than typical phone pockets to hold the most up-to-date mobile devices. An outer pocket accommodates power cords, wallets and other essentials, and the straps are adjustable for maximum comfort while still carrying electronics securely against the back. The interior is lined in nylon. Durable antiqued hardware. Tan or Black. 15" H x 12" W x 6" D. (2 lbs.)

A few other great gift ideas are The Wireless Smartphone Photo Printer The Best Blender, The Thomas The Tank Engine Holiday TrainThe Infant Sleep Inducing Lamb and so much more. You can search by categories such as Electronics, Apparel, Home, Outdoor, Personal Care, Sports & Leisure, Toys, Travel, Holiday and Special Values. I know that you will find that special something for that special someone on your Holiday List.

Relaxing Days Off with PEOPLE Magazine #SexiestManAlive

Have you seen the newest issue of PEOPLE Magazine? Brad Pitt is on the cover! I wonder how many times this A River Runs Through It hunk has been on the cover?!?! He even mentions how he is getting closer to 50. Seriously he can't be that old right, that means I am getting older too lol. But oh my is he still hot!

On my days off of work I have been trying to unwind by just hanging out at home just relaxing. I LOVE to read magazines. I love books too but I will admit as a working mom and a blogger I no longer have as much time as I would like to read. That is why I love magazines. I get to have the latest star and style news in my hands like a book but in a fun way. My last day off I grabbed the latest issue of PEOPLE Magazine grabbed a cup of coffee and hung out on the couch for an hour. It was awesome to just sit and enjoy the articles in the magazine.

Of course my little side kick (my son) is always wanting to do what Mom is doing so he asked what I was reading. He likes to see the pictures of the star's babies just like I do. Its so cute to see what fashion trends are started by the kids of celebrities.

I enjoyed reading the article about Brad Pitt. I have been a fan of his since I was a teenager. Its fun to watch celebrities lives. Its like a peek into another world. He has so many kids now and is getting married. I can't wait for his next movie!

I found a great coupon in PEOPLE Magazine too! I am a frugal Mom so this was awesome!!

I had a nice time hanging out at home reading my magazine and sitting with my son on my day off of work. The TV was off, computer off and we just sat together. I read PEOPLE and he read his books. A nice quiet time!

Do you follow celebrity news? I like the fashion of the stars!

Holiday Traditions with Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee

As a child the holiday season was a magical time in our house. My mom would decorate, my dad would make egg nog and us kids would eat my moms home made fudge as we watched her sort and organize the holiday decor. I would eagerly await the moments my mom would sort the ornaments. I LOVED each and everyone of them. My sister and I would play with the doll ornaments, have the animal candle decor be our pets and even the nut cracker was included in our play time. My mom was sweet to let us gently play with the ornaments while she organized everything for the day we would decorate the tree. I have the sweetest memories of holiday decor organizing.

Now with my own son we keep the same tradition for the day before the tree arrives. I get out all the decor to sort and organize based on the theme we will have for the holidays. I love looking at each ornament and recall where I got it or who gave it to me. Each of them represent a loved one or cherished memory. To me a Christmas tree is a loving representation of the years lived. Funny ones, cute ones, religious ones and holiday themed ones all decorate my tree. We also get out and clean the other decor like our mini singing tree, the nut cracker, lights and so much more.

This holiday season we are in a new home. I am so excited for a Christmas in the new place and to decorate this year. We are having our annual sort, organize and theme selection day. I brought out the bins of holiday decor and poured a cup of coffee to enjoy while I reminisce over each item.

Each year I look forward to the Starbucks Holiday Blend as a part of our tradition as well. I have been drinking it each year since I moved out of my parents home. My mom started sending the big bag of coffee for me as a Christmas present. The last few year I have been buying it earlier so I can enjoy the whole holiday season.

A sweet treat to go along with holiday decor organizing is a must have item. Some years is cookies or muffins or a chocolate treat. This year we decided to buy cinnamon rolls to compliment the flavors of the Starbucks Holiday blend. I shopped at Sam's Club for my items. I was looking for a display for the Starbucks Holiday blend so I did not have to look all over for one of my favorite Holiday indulgence but did not see it. I went down the coffee aisle and found the Holiday blend next to the other Starbucks roasts. We enjoy the bakery selection Artisan Fresh items that we find there. I did not see the cinnamon rolls up front or on display, they had apple turnovers on a display but not cinnamon rolls. I did see them in the Bakery section near the breads. I even spotted pumpkin muffins and mini cinnamon rolls.

I love the scent of the coffee! I do not normally drink black coffee but with the Holiday Blend I love the flavors of the roast and want to enjoy them. The complimentary notes for the Starbucks  Holiday Blend are ginger, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange and cloves. The flavor was amazing when I would take a sip of the coffee then a bite of the cinnamon roll then more coffee. The sweetness of the cinnamon roll complimented the bold notes of the coffee. Its a delicious pair for the holidays! #DeliciousPairings

I brew Starbucks at home all year long and I am never disappointed in the flavor. Its just like at a coffee house except I get to be at home nice and warm not out fighting traffic or looking for parking in the bustle of Holiday shopping. If you are looking to add a delicious drink and treat to your holiday traditions Starbucks Holiday Blend and Sam's Club Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Rolls are perfect for cold holiday nights spending time with your family. Even my husband loved it and he can be picky about his holiday treats! He commented on how he could taste the cinnamon in the coffee more after taking a bite of the cinnamon roll first. He asked if I made the cinnamon rolls since they tasted so great, for a moment or two I let him think I did but then told him they were from the Sam's Club bakery.

With the ornaments and decor cleaned and organized we are ready to buy our tree this week. We were inspired by the bag of Starbucks Holiday Blend and have decided to go with gold, green and white as our holiday theme colors. I look forward to the Christmas tree going up, I will be enjoying a cup of coffee and cinnamon rolls as I sit back and marvel in the beauty of it.

Western Chief Rain Gear Review and Rain Boots Giveaway Holiday Gift Guide

The rainy season is here in full force! It has been very stormy and windy here in Northern California for over a week. The need for a rain coat, rains boots and an umbrella is a must!

My son is a huge Thomas the Train fan. We have a bunch of toys, movies and clothing that are Thomas. I knew my son would love Thomas the Tank® rain gear. I have heard about a company out of Washington state (where Sam and Patricia live!) that makes super cute rain gear for kids, Western Chief. I am always looking for companies that are based in CA or WA to support the two states I love!

When my son saw the Thomas the Tank® items he squealed with joy! He loves Thomas and was of course showing off his best choo choo as he stomped around in his new rain gear. The rain boots are very durable, they run a tad big which I think is great so my son can wear them well into the Spring rainy season. Kids feet grow so fast too! Western Chief also has fleece boot liners that go inside the boots to keep little toes warm and dry. We have jumped in many puddles, waded through ankle deep water and stayed dry. The best part about the raincoat other than how cute it is, the fact that the the rain coat is lined. This adds an extra layer of warmth to the coat that most rain coats do not have. My son can wear the coat in the Spring rains too with a tshirt and jeans while staying warm and dry.

A little info about Western Chief:

Washington Shoe Company was founded in Seattle in 1891 to produce rugged outdoor boots designed to meet the harsh conditions of the Alaska Gold Rush. Today, Washington Shoe Company is committed to providing retail distributors with the same high quality, rugged work footwear along with durable, fashionable and fun rain gear. The Western Chief Brand is designed to meet and exceed the demands of today's work place while providing comfort and durability, at a reasonable cost.

Western Chief kids is available at Amazon.com and Nordstom. Rain gear makes a perfect Holiday Gift for the child in your life. Western Chief makes many different styles and characters that any kid would love to unwrap on Christmas or like my son for his birthday that happens close to the holiday season.

Western Chief makes has rain boots, rain coats and umbrellas. To introduce you to Western Chief we are offering a giveaway for a pair of rain boots of the winner's choice of the 6 styles shown below for your little one.

Befudium Game Review and Giveaway

I have to make a confession. I love playing games, I mean LOVE playing games. My poor family knows the craziness that occurs whenever we have a holiday or a family event. The know that if we are going to get together, we are going to play a game. Some refuse to play, others just go along with it because they know how much fun it can be if you have a new and fun game to share. I was so excited for my family to review the game Befudiom this year at Thanksgiving!

Befudiom is a word game where teams are challenged to guess selected idioms by acting, shouting, drawing, or spelling them out. (An idioms is an expression consisting of a combination of words that have a figurative meaning, like "It's raining Cats and Dogs.) The various ways in the game of expressing the idiom by acting, spelling, drawing or shouting. The name “Befudiom” combines the words “befuddled” and “idiom,” alluding to the game’s root in mixed-up meanings.

We had so much fun playing Befudium! We played men against women and it was hilarious to watch. The great thing about the game was that there are four different ways to express your idiom, so if you are not too great a drawing (like me) you can always hope to act out your next clue. Even my youngest sister, the anti-game player, was laughing and having fun with it! She is a tough critic so that is saying a lot. We laughed, bantered and even had a few tears of joy at the end. I definitely recommend you get Befudiom for your next gathering!
