Celebrating Fall Hot Apple Cider And Candy Apples Recipes #HarvestFun #ad #throwback

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias #ad #HarvestFun

This is a #throwback from 2013 of one of our favorite #shops we have done with #CollectiveBias

My favorite season is fall, and here, the leaves are already beginning to turn gold.

I'm very excited about the fall baking that I will be doing, and making favorite fall recipes and discovering new ones, too.

I love making fall treats for family and friends. I'm a grandmother to four little ones, and they love it when I make or bake something delicious just for them.

This weekend I could feel fall in the air, so I decided to make candy apples with Candy Corn flavored M&M's, and some delicious Mott's hot apple cider.

I went shopping at Walmart to buy the new fall packaged M&M's. They come in four flavors, including Peanut, Peanut Butter, Milk Chocolate, and the flavor I bought, Candy Corn.

I have made candy apples with M&M's before, and they are always a hit. They are great for fall activities where a treat is needed, and the perfect cute spin on giving an apple to your child's teacher.

Candy apples are easy to make, and it's fun to find different ingredients to make the outside coating taste delicious.

Candy corn is something we always have on hand in the fall, so I knew the Candy Corn flavored M&M's would be great to roll the caramel apples in. I just used my mini Magic Bullet to chop the M&M's, dipped the apples in the melted caramel, and then rolled them in the candy.

I really love giving candy apples as an unexpected little gift, or a thank you. I almost feel guilty for how little effort it took to make them, when the receiver is so happy to get them.

These were a huge hit this weekend with my kids and grandkids, so I'll try the other flavors of the fall M&M's too, especially the peanut kind.

I also made some hot apple cider this weekend, and we sat outside on the deck with it in the evening. This could be the last time we will be doing that, as the evenings are getting quite chilly.

I like making my apple cider with a bit of a citrus twist, by adding orange juice and lemon juice to the Mott's apple juice. This recipe can be doubled or tripled for a larger group, and not only do the adults love it, but the kids do to.

And your kitchen will smell deliciously like cinnamon and spices.

I've been buying the Mott's brand of apple juice for years, and gave it to my children, and now to my grandchildren.

It's the base of this great tasting apple cider with a twist. I like heating a cup of this cider in the microwave for myself in the afternoon or evening.

For me, nothing says fall like apple cider. It's so easy to make your own, and it tastes so much better than the bottled kind.

I love how cute these apples came out, and my daughter thought they would make sweet gifts for the teachers on Back To School Night.

Making A Wecome Home From The Hospital Gift Basket For A Dear Friend

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MyCaregivingStory #CollectiveBias

If there's one thing in life I've learned, it's how valuable our friendships are, especially as we get older. Friends may come and go at certain points, but if we're very lucky, we will keep a few that are with us through thick and thin, good times and bad, and through the health problems many of us are challenged with as the decades go by.

I have a dear friend who is kind, and smart, and talented, and who always listens to me with an open heart. I know I can tell her anything and she will support me and help however she can. We also have a lot of laughs together, and I consider her an important part of my life.

Since she's in her seventies now, the last few years have not been easy for her in terms of her health. She's had some very serious heart problems and surgeries, but somehow manages to bounce back to her old self pretty quickly. I truly admire her wonderful attitude and love for life.

She recently had surgery again so I wanted to bring her a gift basket filled with things that she can use, and things I knew she would love. I've discovered that just because you are ill or recovering from illness, doesn't mean you no longer care about feeling special in the way you take care of yourself.

My friend loves to dress well, and pamper herself in small and simple ways. There's nothing she loves more than a warm, soothing bath so I decided to make her some Pumpkin Honey Sugar Scrub Cubes that I know she'll use and appreciate.

Along with the sugar scrub cubes, I included some cards she can send, some note pads, warm socks, hand cream, a new coffee mug, and a favorite book of mine on faith.

I think a gift basket is one of the nicest things you can give someone for almost any reason, and it's a lot of fun buying and gathering things to make it special for the receiver.

I also included something that I know she needs and will really appreciate me buying for her, and that's Poise® Maximum Absorbency Pads. With all of her health problems and surgeries, it's a relief for her to have a product she can depend on to deal with her incontinence, and still feel fresh and clean.

Since a lot my friends have had to start dealing with incontinence as they get older, or become caregivers to elderly parents, we look for products we can use and trust.

Sam's Club offers Poise® Maximum Absorbency Pads that provide even more absorbency to give you the confidence and protection you need for your Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) with discreet and worry-free protection.

Look for the new packaging now available on Poise® and Depend® products that shows just how much you save by shopping at Sam's Club. I love the convenience and saving of buying in bulk, and not running out on important essentials.

I'm always so touched whenever anyone gives me something they made. It's just such a warm and sweet way to show they care about you. These easy Pumpkin Honey Sugar Scrub Cubes are super easy to make and the pumpkin spice in them is especially nice this time of year.

How to make Pumpkin Honey Sugar Scrub Cubes:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup unscented soap, shredded
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 heaping tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

Directions:

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the oil and shredded soap. Microwave on high in 20 second intervals until soap and oil are combined and melted. Add in the sugar, honey, and spice and then stir to combine.
Quickly pour the mixture into an ice cube mold and place in freezer about 30 minutes to firm up.

When the cubes are firm, store them in an air tight container to maintain their proper consistency. But for gift giving, I put them in a plastic bag and labeled them with a tag. They smell so good!

To use them in the bath or shower, take one and crush it slightly in your hand, Then rub it over your body before rinsing. They act like a pumpkin scented exfoliation and really feel great on your skin.
This recipe will make 12 sugar scrubs.

Along with Poise Maximum Absorbency Pads, Sam's Club members can also find Depend® FIT-FLEX® Underwear for Women. They are now more comfortable and feature all-around leg elastics, and a smooth, close-to-body fit.

And when you open your Depend packaging it will have a sticker inside that you can use to redeem at the pharmacy for a great caregiver sample kit. This offer is available while supplies last, so hurry in today to find your packaging with this offer!

Be sure and check out Sam's Club Family Caregiving, a one-stop destination for all of your caregiving needs, including prescription refills, personal care products, and free health screenings. This is really awesome for all members, and I know I'm going to take full advantage of it.

Be sure to download the Digimarc Discovery app, you can scan anywhere on the Depend packaging, and it will take you to the Sam’s Club Caregiver website where you can find more information.

Whether you are a caregiver for a family member, or simply care very much about someone special like I do about my friend, it feels wonderful to share in making their lives a little better. I know my friend will appreciate her gift basket and everything in it. I'm just happy to spend time with her and enjoy her company.

Do you know someone who would be able to use Poise® Maximum Absorbency Pads? Sometimes the gift of giving basic products that we need are so appreciated. Do you have a caregiving story you would like to share?

Leave me a comment below, I would love to hear from you.

Fall Snack Mix For Kids Made With Goldfish® Crackers

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MixMatchMunch #CollectiveBias

My grandchildren started their new school last week and I'm thrilled to say that they love it! They had never moved before, so we weren't sure how they would feel about attending a much bigger school and having to make new friends. But it all went well, and I couldn't be more relieved.

They came home with lots to tell us, and of course after a long day, hungry for a great afterschool snack. Since they love Goldfish® crackers so much, I thought I would put together a snack mix that included them with a bit of a fall theme.

My grandkids love hearing about when their mom was a little girl and that she loved eating Goldfish crackers just like they do. I always get lots of smiles when they're eating them and listening to stories about her.

It's really so easy to put together a great tasting snack mix with your favorite ingredients. I like to make a big batch of it and store it in a covered container so that it's ready right when they get home from school.

This fall snack mix includes Goldfish crackers colored variety, dried cranberries, golden raisins, sunflower seeds, stick pretzels, and white chocolate chips. The kids really love it, and I get cool Grandma points!

I'm so proud of these three, how brave they have been with the move and adapting to our new hometown. I love being able to offer them an afterschool snack that they love and I know they won't waste. Goldfish crackers are always the perfect solution for my grandchildren's snacking needs.

I find the 30 count packs really convenient, and it includes three of our favorite flavors. Sometimes I'll pick up the bulk boxes too, just so I know we have plenty of crackers on hand.

You can find the bulk boxes on the rollback price of $5.98 at Walmart. It's a great time to stock up and make sure there are plenty of Goldfish snacks on hand for your little ones.

Ingredients:
2 cups Goldfish crackers
2 cups stick pretzels
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Directions:
In a big bowl, put in all ingredients and give it a big stir. So easy!

You can change up the kind of chips you add to your snack mix, too. We really like the white chocolate kind, but semi-sweet chocolate, or butterscotch would also taste great.

You can find Goldfish crackers in different sizes and varieties at your local Walmart. I found the 30 count packs in the aisle of other multi-packaged products.

Look for this in-store offer that may be available at your local Walmart: Save $1.00 on any ONE (1) Bolthouse Farms® 10 oz. Baby Carrots or Bolthouse Farms® 11 oz. juice when you buy any ONE (1) Pepperidge Farms® Goldfish® crackers 30 oz. or larger.

With school back in full swing for the kids, I know we'll be making more after school snack mixes with our favorite kinds of Goldfish crackers.

Have you ever made a snack mix for your kids before? What ingredients would you use to make a delicious snack mix that you know your kids would love? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Our Favorite Back To School Snack Mix Made With Goldfish® Crackers

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MixMatchMunch #CollectiveBias

My family and I moved a few weeks ago away from Seattle, and to Henderson, Nevada. Like with any move, there's good and bad, and a lot of goodbyes to close friends and family members.
I'm very happy to say that everyone is loving our new home and community, and my grandchildren have completely fallen in love with our neighborhood, which is filled with parks, pools, and walking trails. And though I know they'll miss their friends, it's just such a relief to see them settling in so well already.
Since back to school is only a few days away, it's time to start thinking about breakfasts, lunches, and that all important after school snack. A great snack that kids like can prevent the irritability or meltdown that is bound to happen after school in those first days of being back in the classroom.
Since my three grandchildren adore Goldfish® crackers, I decided to use them to make a yummy snack mix. The kids eat them all the time, and I thought that the cute, familiar little crackers would be especially welcomed as after school snacks when they start their new schools.
Goldfish crackers seem like they have always been in my house, my own five children loved them, and now so do my grandchildren. It's funny how things change, but some things stay the same, and they always bring out smiles from everyone in my family.

It's amazing how many varieties and sizes that Goldfish snacks are available in. I like buying the 30 ounce boxes because of savings and knowing we should have some on hand for a little while, I hope.
Walmart is offering the rollback price of $5.98 on bulk Goldfish crackers, so it's a great time to stock up for back to school.
My grandson Liam is six, and he'll be starting first grade. Of course he had to sample the snack mix I made, and it met with his approval.
I made it in a big bowl that has a lid, so I can keep it in the pantry. Having it already mixed together is a big time saver, and we can give the kids a snack as soon as they get home from school. I know from experience that hungry kids don't like waiting, and I don't blame them.

When I was shopping at Walmart, I picked up some of our favorite fruits, strawberries and blueberries. I'm grateful my grandchildren are not picky eaters, so eating lots of fruits and veggies are a normal part of their diets.
Pairing my Goldfish crackers snack mix with the fruit is really delicious, and I love it too!

You can make a snack mix with lots of different things, but this is my favorite recipe for a delicious sweet and salty combination. I used two varieties of crackers, Colors, and the Baked With Whole Grain Cheddar.
Here's the ingredients you need:
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
2 cups mini pretzels
1 1/2 cups chocolate candy pieces
1 1/2 cups salted peanuts
2 cups Baked With Whole Grain Cheddar Goldfish crackers
2 cups Colors Goldfish crackers
Make sure you use a bowl large enough so that when you mix all the ingredients together, they won't spill out. Just add all the ingredients into the bowl.
I think that the white chocolate chips go really great in this, and my four year granddaughter has agreed. I love them too.
Next, just take a big spoon and stir everything together. It's really the easiest thing in the world to make a great tasting snack mix.
Goldfish crackers are a great snack all alone, but using them to make a yummy kid-friendly snack mix like this one, is sure to put a smile on any kid's face. With new classes, teachers, and friends, going back to school can be a big adjustment for our kids. So it's nice to offer them a snack that lets them know you care.
Be sure and look for this in-store offer that may be available at your local Walmart: Save $1.00 on any ONE (1) Bolthouse Farms® 10 oz. Baby Carrots or Bolthouse Farms(® 11 oz. juice when you buy any ONE (1) Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® crackers 30 oz. or larger.
You can find Goldfish® crackers in a variety of flavors and sizes at your local Walmart. And don't forget to take advantage of the rollback price of $5.98 on bulk size crackers.
Have you ever made a snack mix with Goldfish crackers, and if you have, what are your favorite ingredients? Leave me a comment, I'd love to know!

How I Deal With Kid's Sensitive Skin at Laundry Time

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FreeToBe #CollectiveBias

When you have kids, you can expect that doing their laundry will become a big part of your life. While I was raising my five children, it seemed that the piles of dirty clothes never ended, and as soon as one load was done, at least three or four more were still waiting to be put into the machine.

But one thing I was grateful for was that my kids never had any skin sensitivities or allergic reactions to the laundry detergents I used for washing their clothes.

Unfortunately, my three grandchildren are not as lucky. They all have extra sensitive skin, and can break out in rashes, or have a flare-up of mild eczema. So we have to be extra careful about the laundry products we buy and use for all of them.

That's why we choose to use all® free clear detergent, which is the #1 detergent recommended by Dermatologists, Allergists, and Pediatricians for Sensitive Skin.

And all® free clear detergent was awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association for having no dyes, perfumes, certain chemicals, and irritating residues, which helps give us peace of mind when using it on the kid's clothes.

When my oldest grandson Jayden was a baby, he had severe skin rashes that were really terrible, and he was diagnosed with eczema. It's gotten a lot better as he's gotten older, thank goodness. My other two grandchildren Liam, and Ashley have the rashes as well.

So staying with all® free clear detergent is the best course of action to keep these guys feeling their best, and free of painful skin problems.

They are really loving their summer vacation so far, and it's really wonderful to see them having fun with each other. We've been to the beach, gone to concerts in the park, had lots of play dates, and had fun at the water park.

It's a real relief to see them happy and able to enjoy themselves outside because I remember how much pain my grandson Jayden was in because of his skin issues. It feels good knowing that we are doing all we can to protect them with a product we trust.

As important as it is to use a detergent with the kid's sensitive skin issues in mind, I also want a detergent that is going to get our clothes clean.

These kiddos know how to get their clothes dirty, and grass and food stains are a common occurrence at our house. I love clean laundry, so I really like how all® free clear detergent fights tough stains, whitens whites, and brightens colors.

I'm a big fan of liquid detergent and so that's what I use, but when I saw the all® free clear mighty pacs®, I decided to give them a try. They really are so easy to use, and a great back-up when I find myself low on the all® free clear liquid and don't have time to go to the store.

Since our summer weather doesn't always cooperate when we want it to, the kids and I enjoy doing things like making our own play dough when we have to stay inside for the day.

My daughter and I have always bought the kids lots of play dough, but they seem to like the homemade kind the best. This recipe is simple and very inexpensive to make. My granddaughter Ashley is four, and loves to help cook and bake, so she's always eager to help make this.

Recipe for Homemade Play Dough

Ingredients:

1 cup cold water
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
food coloring
3 cups flour
2 tablespoons corn starch

Directions:

In a large bowl, mix together the water, salt, oil, and 6-8 drops of food coloring. Gradually add in the flour and corn starch and mix with a spoon.

At this point, the mixture may need you to pick it and knead it with your hands until it resembles bread dough. It's ready to be played with. Store in an air tight container.

If you or someone you love has sensitive skin or allergies, then you'll be glad to know that washing with all® free clear helps remove three of the top everyday allergens, dust mite matter, cat and dog dander, as well as certain fragrances. It also removes 99% of everyday and seasonal allergens.

(Disclaimer - including cat and dog dander, dust mite matter, ragweed, grass, and tree pollen. all® free clear is not intended to treat or prevent allergies)

I shopped at Target and picked up all® free clear liquid detergent and all® free clear mighty pacs®. I was super excited to find them both on sale in the laundry detergent aisle.

Do you or your loved ones suffer from sensitive skin? Have you tried all® free clear liquid detergent?

Please let me know how you like it if you've tried it. And be sure to join in on the conversation with the all® free clear community and connecting with parents and caregivers just like you!

Enjoy A Delicious Cup Of Morning Coffee With International Delight Simply Pure Coffee Creamer

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #IDSimplyPure #CollectiveBias

I'm definitely a morning person, and so glad I am. I love getting an early start to my day and feeling like I have plenty of time to accomplish what I need to do, and enjoy a little quiet time for myself before the rest of my family wakes up.

I start every morning with a big cup of coffee. I honestly feel like my brain can't function without that first cup. For years I used milk and sugar in my coffee, which was totally fine. But kind of boring.

I'm happy to say that now I get to enjoy a really great tasting cup of coffee because I recently found International Delight Simply Pure Coffee Creamers.

They come in three delicious flavors, Vanilla, Caramel, and Hazelnut. Simply Pure is the perfect everyday creamer, and made with only 5 simple ingredients.

Besides my coffee, another thing that is important to me in the early morning is to look at my vision board. A lot of my friends and family keep saying that they would like to make one, but just never get around to it. I feel like it's definitely worth the time to make one because mine have inspired me to work hard to make my dreams become reality.

I love making vision boards for whatever you want to have happen in your life, whether it's a new job, a new home, or even something like being more in touch with your own feelings.

When I'm fully awake and onto my second cup of coffee, I usually have a little something to eat, sometimes fruit or toast, or even a slice of one of my favorite coffee cakes that I like baking.

Since everyone in my family are coffee lovers, I bought all three flavors of Simply Pure Coffee Creamers at Walmart. Honestly, all of the flavors are yummy, but the Caramel just might be my favorite.

I like that when you use Simply Pure, you don't have to use extra creamer to get great flavor in your coffee. And it's made with real milk, cream, and sugar. Yum!

Have you ever made a vision board? It's super easy, and fun to do.

Start out with some of your favorite magazines, they can be old or new. I like to go to my local library to buy them for only a quarter. The magazines can be of general interest, or more of a theme, like mine are.

Since what I would love to have is a new home, I picked out decorating magazines to cut out pictures and words that have meaning for me.

You just need magazines, a poster board, a glue stick, and scissors. And the ability to let your imagination come out and play.

Just start out cutting pictures that you like or that appeal to you. I had fun finding pictures of pretty rooms and houses. And words like Cottage, Vintage, and Family really spoke to me.

When you have found enough pictures and words, start arranging them on the poster in whatever way looks most appealing to you.

Now glue everything down. Don't worry if things are a little messy, or it's not perfect. Your vision board is only for you, to inspire you and help you dream your dreams.

This is my finished vision board. I was a little surprised that I picked out the picture of the yellow kitchen cabinets because I really thought I only liked white cabinets.

And my board is a little more country-like that I thought it would be. I must like informal country decorating more than I thought. And that's one of the great things about doing a vision board is to bring out your inner thoughts and desires that you normally might not pay much attention to.

If you're like me and love a delicious tasting cup of coffee to get your morning started, Simply Pure Coffee Creamers are for you.

And they're great too for that afternoon cup of coffee that can give a real pickup when the day is long and tiring. For me, coffee is something I always welcome no matter what time of day it is.

Be sure to look for all three flavors of International Delight Simply Pure Coffee Creamers at your local Walmart in the dairy section.

You can also find more Simply Pure inspiration by going here.

Have you ever created a vision board? What would you make your theme or idea for it be? I'd really love to know, so leave me a comment please.

My Favorite Healthy Muffin Recipe and Help From TENA® Products

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.  #TenaTips #CollectiveBias

My mother's generation and the ones before her were never able to talk openly about any kind of female heath issues. Women may have discussed them, but only in hushed tones and with shame or embarrassment. I find that so sad.

I'm very grateful that my girlfriends and I can pretty much talk about any of the health issues or problems that we may face, and sometimes even with laughter when we start comparing notes as we are all entering our fifties and sixties. One of the topics that seems to come up more frequently these days is incontinence.

It can be an issue for women at many stages of life, but in my circle of women friends, age seems to be the determining factor. I sometimes feel as though we already face so many issues as we age that incontinence is just downright unfair.

Fortunately, TENA® Overnight Underwear lets you wake up feeling dry and confident about any accidents that may happen. Knowing that you can have leakage protection both day and night lets you live your life without compromise. TENA® Lets You Be You.

Yesterday was my birthday. I'm so lucky that I was able to celebrate the day with dear family and friends. I'm blessed in many ways for sure, but that doesn't stop me from worrying and being concerned about the challenges I face as I get older in life.

So I'm trying to make small but smart life changes for myself that as a whole, should add up to a healthier me.

For instance, I adore chocolate. Who doesn't, right? Well, I knew I was eating too much of it and tried to completely cut it out of my life. That lasted about two days, and then I was back to overindulging in my beloved chocolate. But then I found this recipe for Skinny Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins.

It's low calorie, packed with healthy ingredients like yogurt, bananas, whole wheat flour, and honey. And best of all, it has chocolate in it!!

Let me just say that these muffins are super delicious, and perfect for breakfast or a midafternoon snack. I love eating them in the morning with my tea, and some fresh fruit.

They are also a big favorite when my girlfriends come over, too. We love having our chocolate fix but also eating muffins that are actually good for us.

Dealing with a weak bladder and possible leakage can effect women in a major way. It's a blow to your confidence and can often prevent you from living a full life. But you shouldn't let it, and using TENA® lets you do the things you love and not miss out on opportunities to live an active life.

Designed for comfort and performance, TENA® makes a whole line of products for women who experience incontinence.

You can shop for these products at your local CVS drugstore, or at CVS.com.

Now, on to my yummy recipe for these Skinny Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins. I always try to use really ripe bananas because they give so much flavor to any banana muffin or banana bread recipe. And I've even froze these muffins to use at a later date, and they are just as delicious after you've let them thaw out at room temperature.

I always try to gather all my ingredients before I start a baking project, it's just easier that way. First you're going to mix together all the wet ingredients in a large bowl. I love the great flavor that honey gives to these muffins, yum!

After you've mixed the wet ingredients, add the dry ingredients, which includes whole wheat flour, together. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Line a cupcake pan with paper liners and divide the batter evenly. This recipe will make 12 generous muffins.

Recipe for Skinny Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 very ripe bananas
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 egg
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 12-count muffin pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, add bananas, honey, vanilla, oil, egg, and yogurt. With a hand mixer, mix together for 1 minute until well blended. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips. Divide batter evenly into muffin liners and bake 20-25 minutes.
Remove muffins from pan and cool on a wire rack.

Makes 12 muffins.

Look for TENA® Overnight Underwear and other TENA® products in the Bladder Control aisle at CVS.

And make sure you take advantage of the Ibotta rebates offered on Pads/Liners/Underwear, and on Overnight Underwear too.

You don't have to let incontinence rule your life. Be confident, be active, be YOU.
