Stardust Vintage Emporium Sacramento: A wonderous walk into the past century

Thrifting is a new hobby for me. While I have always been frugal, finding a good deal on something great is my favorite past time, but thrifting that has caught my heart for a few years now. My family has some serious thriftiers, one is a YouTuber, the other a savvy Poshmark and Ebay seller. I am still at the hobby phase of learning and collecting for myself. My coworker recently told me about a "thrift" place in Sacramento area. I say thrift in quotes because this place is more upscale and more like a vintage mall. There is something similar in Roseville but this place is special since it’s Vintage items.

The moment you walk in you feel like you have stepped back in time. I gasped with delight upon the first few seconds of the eye full of merchandise I saw immediately. The colors, the textures, the furniture styles, all of it is wonderous.

I love looking at all the old product ads and leaflets. Marketing is such an insight to the way people thought and perceived things during specific eras.

While going through my photos of what caught my eye enough to take a close-up picture, I realized my personality is on full display. Birds, frogs, art and orange- or lemon-colored items are my thing. Music is my son's passion, so I was remembering to take pics of the records and such to show him. He was in school, and I know he will want to go back to the store with me next time. I am going to need to bring a lot more money if I bring him LOL. He definitely loves to shop; it's in his DNA.

I absolutely LOVE this painting with the pigeons in the stone window of a bell tower!

The amount of fantastic colorful furniture this store has its crazy! I saw so many shades of orange, yellow, pink and green that I could fill many rooms with if I had the space and money. I felt like I was stepping into my childhood of the early 80s in some of the rooms in store. My husband and I said several times so n so had this or I remember my neighbors had that. For my younger coworkers that told me about this place they described it as so cool and vintage, for me it felt like a fabric of my childhood and wow it was a beautiful feeling.

The color and texture of these lamp bases are beautiful. Recently I have been drawn to soft hued greens.

A fun Vegas sign! I always take a pic of those as a nod to my family in Vegas and my favorite YouTuber. I always like to look at the jars or bags of random costume jewelry when I am out thrifting, I know sometimes there is treasure buried in there. I have yet to step up and buy one. It's on my list of must do!

Since its September I noticed many places have out Halloween items, but oh man Vintage Halloween is the best! I saw many great and affordable Halloween theme items in store.

Mary Poppins is one of my top all-time favorite movies! I always keep an eye out for things related to the original movie.

This table in the middle of the store had badges and pins on it. I wanted so many of them! They are like little time capsules of art and life. I think it would be fun to get a denim dress or coat and cover it in these patches.

The whimsy of this creature is so cute! Like a midair jump and pose of delight over the grassland. The color is so pretty.

The set up of the store is like individual booths or vignettes that capture in my opinion a bit of the seller's personality. I feel like most sellers are deep down collectors too and buy what captures their heart. I really enjoyed seeing each area and taking the time to see, touch and marvel in their treasures they were offering for sale without having the pressure to buy. It was a calm and slow pace of browsing that honestly, I could have spent several more hours in there if not for making sure we made it back to Roseville in time for school pick up.

More patches and pins!

This Nordstrom hat box I dared not pick up because I know I would have to buy it! I absolutely love vintage Nordstrom items. The lettering on the box is classic.

I loved how this seller used black lights to feature the uranium glass they had for sale.

If you find yourself in Sacramento area and want a fun place to shop for vintage items, I recommend checking them out.
