Breakfast for Dinner with Tyson Bacon Breakfast Bread Bowls

In my house we eat Breakfast items more at dinner time than for breakfast. My son likes to eat a big meal at night more so than in the morning. I am more of a light breakfast eater too, except on weekends we do often have a big breakfast. We eat eggs and pancakes or biscuits with gravy and eggs for dinner all the time.

The last few months its been getting more difficult to get my son to eat eggs. I tried breakfast sandwiches but he just pulls out the eggs and wont eat it. I was thrilled when I saw that Tyson Bacon Breakfast Bread Bowls had eggs in them. Its a great combo of eggs, bacon, cheese and bread. I am a huge fan of anything in a bread bowl so I was eager to try them.

On the box it said Microwavable but since we dont have one ( I have not owned a microwave in about 10 years!) I figured I could just make them in the oven. I was surprised it did not have recommended oven instructions on the packaging. I placed them on a pan with foil and wrapped it up. They turned out great and a bit toasted, just how I like my breads and biscuits. The smell of the bacon filled the kitchen while they were cooking, it was great! #TysonBreakfast

While I waited for my Bacon Breakfast Bread Bowls to cook I stayed busy clipping coupons. When the Bread Bowls were almost done I took out my new favorite cooking item my new toaster. I have been toasting like crazy with it! My son liked waffles with his eggs and bacon and I like a bagel with cream cheese. When I make Breakfast for Dinner I usually make eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles or pancakes and for me always a bagel with cream cheese. I always serve a fruit and a glass of juice to go with it.

The Tyson Bacon Breakfast Bread Bowls were good. My son liked them a lot. He told me Yummy! The combo of bacon, cheese and eggs were something I think any kid would eat. My son can be picky but these were one thing that was perfect for him to grab and eat. He could not pick at it or take it apart so he just started to eat it. It was great to see him enjoy something with eggs in it.

The perfect Breakfast for dinner. Simple and taste great. #TysonBreakfast

I liked that the Tyson Bacon Breakfast Bread bowls were easy to heat up. No mess in the kitchen and my son could grab them and eat them. I will be having my mother in law try these too. She saw the box on the counter and asked about them. I hope soon Sam's Club will have these for a taste test so everyone can try them!

Getting him to sit down to enjoy a meal was harder than any of the meal cooking lol

Bacon, Cheese, Eggs and Bread perfect combo!

Just Another Reason I Go To Starbucks

Anyone living in Seattle knows that it is almost true that there is a Starbucks on every corner. And in the grocery store, too. Everywhere we look there is a Starbucks. I am proud of the fact that the very first Starbucks opened right here in Seattle and is still open today. We love our coffee up here, there is no doubt about it.

Seattle has a lot of different and distinctive neighborhoods. So each Starbucks can take on the flavor and vibe of that particular neighborhood. I was in the Pioneer Square neighborhood last week and popped in for a latte. Pioneer Square is a little eclectic and I like it that way. You just never know who or what you might see on the street, or in Starbucks, for that matter.

I loved this picture on the wall. I love the mellow atmosphere it creates on a cold windy day. There are long wooden tables to sit at and read the paper or chat with friends. Very relaxing.

But then again, this lady was also there. She graciously let me take her picture and it wasn't even Mardi Gras and I didn't even ask.

Today we met the Book Author Patricia Newman

Today we went to our local mall for the Easter Egg hunt and to see the Easter Bunny. He has been at our mall a lot! We did not know we would also be meeting the author Patricia Newman. She was super nice! My son was still a bit weary of the Easter Bunny but he hopped up on the lap of the book author and sat next to the bunny for a cute picture.

We did not have a chance to check out her book while we were the but I have looked online for it. Its a cute book about Trains and Transportation called Jingle the Brass.

We missed the raffle for the Easter Egg hunt due to getting there late but we still had a fun time. It was so crowded but all the kids there was fun for my son. If you have a Westfield mall near you they have family day events like this one all the time. You can read more here.

Waiting in line to see the bunny and meet the author

Donating to the Kingston Food Bank with All You Magazine and Champions for Kids

What an honor it is to be participating in the Champions for Kids and All You magazine simple service project. I have shopped at Walmart with my coupons and bought items to donate to an organization that benefits children.

I have chosen to make my donation to the Kingston Food Bank in Washington state. I have chosen this organization because no child should go hungry, and food banks play a vitally important part of any community.
My grandson went with me to shop for our donations, and here he is with a smile on his face and all ready to take our things into the food bank.

The food bank is run by Director Barb Fulton (she is the lady in the front row, on the right). Barb's parents started the food bank 55 years ago. Barb is generously devoted to continuing on the tradition of helping others in need.
These other marvelous ladies devote their time to helping out here, and helping to make sure that families can come to the food bank when they need to.

Kid's clothes, blankets and other items are always needed. Warm jackets and gloves in the winter are always welcomed and used.

Donated buckets and bunnies will help to fill Easter baskets for the children.

Thanks Champions for Kids and All You magazine! Our donations were very much appreciated and it feels so good to help others. I encourage everyone to to use coupons to help make their donation dollars go further. #AllYouCFK
Our thanks also to Barb Fulton and the Kingston Food Bank for all you do for the community.

Champions for Kids is a great way to get ideas for a Simple Service Project each month that anyone can participate in. Using coupons is a great way all year long to be able to give more and save more while helping kids in need. You can read more about Champions for Kids by visiting their website.

Sleep Buddy Review and Giveaway

Do your children wake up way too early in the morning? Do you wish they would sleep more? Or is nap time just not long enough? I am sure if you are a mother than you have answered yes to at least one of these questions. If you want to try something different and fun, I suggest the Sleep Buddy. The Sleep Buddy is a system created to teach your child or children to wait for the light on the Sleep Buddy or "night light" to go off before they can get out of bed.

Here is what their web site says about how the Sleep Buddy works-

SleepBuddy is for children who are:

  • In the crib and moving to a bed within 1-2 months
  • Currently transitioning from crib to bed, or
  • Sleeping in a bed but not staying through the night.

Three simple steps toward sound, healthy sleep.

Present and explain SleepBuddy to your child. The system includes an engaging children’s book to help your child understand the concept.

Program the soft blue light to turn on for scheduled nap time and when it is time for your child to go bed at night. Place the light in his/her room where it can be seen from the bed.

Record your child’s progress with the included incentive chart and smiley stickers. When a goal is reached, choose a reward that you feel is right for your child.
My boys are pretty good sleepers but they do have their nights and mornings where they wake up at the crack of dawn. I tried the Sleep Buddy and it did help. There were a few times that it didn't matter the light was still on, JJ still got out of bed, but he is not perfect. This will be a great tool for us as Little L gets closer to moving to a toddler bed, that boy needs a method like the Sleep Buddy, he is a wild one! One of the really cool things is you get an incentive chart and stickers, this was a great way to motivate JJ to stay in bed :) Overall I liked the Sleep Buddy and recommend it to those of you looking for a solution to "Mommy Brain" due to lack of sleep.

Couponing for Good: All You Magazine & Champions for Kids

This month I am so proud to be participating in a Simple Service Project with an amazing organization called Champions For Kids.

This service project is all about using coupons to purchase items and donating them to an organization that helps children. All You magazine has teamed up with Champions for Kids to make this an easy and affordable way for us to give back to our communities.

I have chosen the Kingston Food Bank to make my donation to. Food banks are so important in a community and they help parents to feed their children when they need extra help in putting food on the table. Every donation helps, and non-food items are always welcomed as well.

I am shopping at Walmart where they always accept my coupons. All You magazine offers lots of coupons every month. I am going to use coupons from the magazine and others to make my purchases with.

Fresh fruit is always welcomed at the food bank, so I will buy bags of oranges and apples. Both are easy and healthy snacks for kids.

Any kind of baby food or baby products are always needed. I am using my coupons to buy healthy snacks for toddlers.

Pedia Sure is a drink that is a great source of protein, fiber and other healthy ingredients. I have coupons to buy two six packs.

Kids always need toiletries such as shampoo. I am also buying toothpaste, toothbrushes, first-aid creme and vitamins. I have coupons for these items and Walmart's low prices make them an even better deal.

I know that my small donation will help parents and their children. I will also be adding some more groceries to this that I purchased on another recent shopping trip. I will definitely be encouraging my friends and family to "Coupon For Good" to help others by donating. Even a small donation can help, and using coupons to shop with is a great way to make your donation dollars stretch even further.

To learn more about Champions for Kids and how you can get involved in a Simple Service Project you can visit their website, facebook and twitter pages.

You can see more of my shopping trip with my grandson to purchase the items we will be donating in my Google+ story.

Sundays At The Flea Market

I love going to the flea market. I love books. So I am really wanting to buy these two gorgeous books all about flea marketing. There are so many great flea markets all across the country and Spring is just around the corner. When the weather turns nice, it is definitely time to go shopping!

Here in Seattle we have a market called the Fremont Sunday Market. Everything from furniture to art to funky clothing and handmade candles is here. For me, part of the fun is people watching. Hippies, babies, hipsters and dogs all turn out for the Sunday market. It's a colorful, funky way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

GoGo Babyz Urban Advantage Stroller Review and Giveaway

My son loves boxes! This one he said "mine" and jumped on it. I let him lounge on it until he yelled "fly" and jumped off. Hes a wild one. Him being so wild is a reason I need to get him a better stroller. The one we have now works but its not ideal for all the outings we go on. We go to festivals, mall play dates, river and lake path walking and so much more. We are busy bees over here.

When we are on the go I often have my son stay in his stroller so I can keep an eye on him if its a crowded place. Plus he can enjoy a snack and some juice on his tray when we are out for long walks at the river. I really was needing a stroller with good maneuverability. I looked for a stroller with 3 wheels and found a great one! The Urban Advantage from GoGo Babyz was exactly what I was looking for.

It was fairly easy to put together for me. I followed the instructions and did not need to ask my husband if it was right (lol success!) I love the Green color. Its perfect for Spring, matches the new car seat I won from Huggies and its my favorite green apple! The Urban Advantage stroller maneuvered with a great ease. I love the height of the handle bar, I could stand up perfectly straight and had cup holders right at my arm height. That has been an issue for my husband as well, feeling like he has to slump over when he pushes our son, even he thought the stroller was great.

A few times a week our local mall holds events of all sorts. We are lucky to live so close so we can attend them. Some are for entertainment, others educational or a fundraiser. I love to be able to get out of the house and for my son to interact with other kids. The first place we went with the GoGo Babyz Urban Advantage was the Red Cross Save A Life Saturday. We did not have a chance to sign up for the class but we did get to color and gather some good information. I like the foot rest on this stroller. My son seemed very comfortable sitting in it. Plus if he were to fall asleep like he has at fairs I could recline the seat and let him snooze comfortably.

Here is some info on the GoGo Babyz Urban Advantage Stroller:

This unique three-wheeled swivel stroller can accommodate an infant car seat for newborns, and its well-cushioned, washable seat provides a noteworthy level of comfort for children up to 45 pounds. It has a five-point, padded safety harness, parent tray, child tray and an extra-long canopy to keep out the sun. It folds easily with just one hand for storage. The brake-activated kickstand provides added stability and safety to help prevent tipping accidents when parked.

The Urban Advantage is not a jogging stroller but, it is great for providing a smooth ride on a variety of surfaces.

The Disney store at our mall has great murals and a Movie viewing area with tables and chairs. Its often a place we meet for snacks before going to the play yard.

One of the great things about GoGo Babyz is their Recycled Urban Advantage Strollers. You can save money and help the environment by purchasing a Recycled Urban Advantage Stroller. These strollers demos or returns that the company refurbishes to make it like new. The strollers go through a safety inspection and test before they are able to be sold. It also comes with a 6 month warranty. This would be a great way to save money and reduce waste.

The stroller folds up easily but can be a bit heavy to lift at 27lbs. I did not realize how much of a wimp I am lol. I know we will be bring this stroller to many festivals and even the state fair this year. I look forward to the adventures we will be having with out Urban Advantage. GoGo Babyz also make great travel products. The Infant/Toddler Cruiser looks like the perfect solution for train, taxi and airplane travel for your little one's car seat.

Stuck in the Slide!

Yesterday I took my son to the local park. It has been sunny and beautiful just a bit breezy. For some reason he has been a bit apprehensive about slides. Months previous we could not keep him off of them. Its fun to see his little emotions develop and change. One of the big slides at the park I do not normally let him go down since it seems a bit big kid and he is just a toddler. He asked to go down this one and smiled. I asked him if he wanted to and he nodded his head.

This slide is one of those slides that is a tube so I was not worried about him falling off, but something else happened. As he was sliding down he put out his hands and legs. This stopped him right in his tracks! He was stuck half way down the slide inside of it. My heart started to panic!! I could not reach him from the top or bottom to push or pull him out. I asked him ever so sweetly to move his feet and come down to mommy. Hes response was "Im Stuck!" My heart was in my throat since I had no way of climbing in there to get him. I started to look around to see if I could ask another kid to go in there to pull him out.

Finally I tapped on the part of the slide where I could see he was in the tube and told him I see a doggie and he came sliding down. It was quite the slide adventure!
