Cate and Levi People Puppets Review and Giveaway

I love imaginative play. I think it is a great way for children to learn and grow while using their imaginations. I also love puppets! Cate and Levi is a sweet little company that makes one of a kind, all natural and reclaimed material high quality children's items. They have the cutest stuffed animals, baby blankets, backpack buddies, and much more. We were lucky enough to review one of the People Puppets, the Princess to be exact.
This puppet is so sweet! It is a whole lot bigger than I thought it would be, the picture does not do it justice. The quality is outstanding. I know that my little princess is kind of young to play with the puppet as it is meant to be played with, but it is something that she will grown with and cherish for years to come. I love the color choices and the fact that each puppet is unique really makes me smile.

Just look at my Princess holding her Princess!! She already loves it :)

What I also like about Cate and Levi items is that every item is non toxic, eco-friendly and one of a kind. The rainbow of colors and textures reclaimed wool possesses gives their artisans the freedom to craft truly unique animals. If you are looking for a truly one of a kind item or gift this is the place to shop, you will not be disappointed!!

Celebrating Earth Day

I love Earth Day. Began in 1970, Earth Day was started to draw attention to the damage we are doing to the earth and how we can stop it. Now celebrated around the world, the day is a celebration of the awareness of the love and care our planet needs to be healthy for generations to come.

I truly believe that it is our duty to educate our children and grandchildren, and show them ways to honor our Earth with care. This is done on a daily basis, and not just once a year. I have made a pledge to do 5 things everyday and to share them with my 4 young grandchildren.

1. To stop buying bottled water. The amount of bottles not recycled is shocking and they end up in landfills.

2. To recycle all glass, plastic, and paper products. I have been recycling since I was a teenager, and I want to pass on the importance to them.

3. To use green or natural products to clean and wash our clothes. Harsh fumes are toxic to our health.

4. To support companies that make products out of recycled products.

5. To make a small donation each month to The Rainforest Partnership or any organization that helps to protect the earth. Collected change adds up to dollars to donate.

Earth Day is April 22. How are you spending the day? If you live in the Seattle area, there are dozens of things to do to celebrate. From the University of Washington's Earth Day Fair, to the Seattle Children's Museum's educational programs, we can all get involved.

To me, Earth Day means celebrating this beautiful planet that we all share.

Thinking and Organizing on a Quiet Sunday

Do you ever feel like you just have too much "stuff"? I have been trying to sort through my things lately and really trying to decide what I need to keep and let go of. It's hard to get rid of things that once meant a great deal to you.
But I am getting rid of the old to make way for the new. I don't mean just Things, but new life experiences as well. At least this is what the books say you need to do!
I have these three little finger puppets that I am keeping for sure. I bought them for my daughter Megan when she was six years old. When she moved out, she left them behind and now I keep them on a shelf just to remember some very happy days. It is a quiet weather day today and a quiet day to think about just what matters.
Here's hoping you all have a happy Sunday!

A Typo That Annoys Me

Can you spot the typo in this sign? It annoys me! I've sent emails but it has not been fixed. We also had a road sign near the freeway that said "Feeway" instead of "Freeway" that one made me chuckle since yes as tax payers the freeway is not free. But the other one in a kids play AREA makes me so annoyed! Its been this way for a few years now.

I think the typo is why my son gets a little wild here, it is after all talking about a Greek god of war.
