Mom Ride Your Bike

My son is obviously hinting to me that he is wanting me to get on my exercise bike! For a few weeks I was riding every morning and he would hang out and watch a DVD while I rode. It was at the same time everyday and when he climbed on here it was about that time. Too cute!!

Organa Kids Happy Valley and Castle Farm DVD Review and Giveaway

Being the movie buffs we are in my home finding new characters to watch for my son can be fun. We recently reviewed two Organa Kids DVDs. We watched Happy Valley Vol.1 and Castle Farm Vol.1. This was the first time I had heard of Organa Kids and was eager to see what they were about.

Happy Valley, Volume 1

Set in a beautiful countryside by the sea, Happy Valley is filled with contemporary and traditional nursery rhymes and songs. Explore daily lives of children just like you living in a wonderful and imaginative place. Come along with them as they go about their daily lives splashing in the puddles, counting goats, brushing their teeth or riding a merry-go-round.

My son like this one. It was cute with happy smiling cartoons, just as you would expect in a place called Happy Valley. I liked the nursery rhythm type of show.

Castle Farm, Volume 1

A funny and charming animated preschool series set in an idyllic but busy country farm based in the grounds of a castle. This colourful series follows the two main characters, Farm Girl and her best friend, Piggy and their friends, including Farmer, Leonard the cow hand, and the wise Unicorn. We follow Piggy and Farm Girl as they embark on a series of quests. From wondering if a new puddle is wobbly water or silver soup to admiring a butterfly, Farm Girl and Piggy use their initiative to find out about the world around them.

My son did not really like this cartoon. I am sure other kids would since it has the appeal of a girl lead character. I think for him he could not pay attention to the cartoon drawing. I know its suppose to look hand drawn type but it wasn't for us. Cute story lines, I love anything with farming in it but he would watch for just a bit then do something else.

There are two other DVDs that Organa Kids carries that I think my son would like more Iris: The Happy Professor and Adventures of Mouse and Mole.

Batman The Brave and The Bold Season 2, Part 1 DVD Review

Batman is of course a heroic character that battles good versus evil. I thought my son would like Batman cartoons but at this age and I do know the age limit for this movie is higher than his age, I would have to say I will hold off letting him watch it. We saw a bit too many punches, kicks and whamos for my liking. He was acting wild after he watched just a bit of it. I did a Mama No-No I put in the movie for us to watch together without viewing it for myself.

As far as Batman goes it was cool. A bit more wild than I thought but hey its Batman hes a super hero and gets into some wild situations saving the world!

Synopsis: Batman wings into an exciting new era, teaming with a mighty honor roll of DC Comics Super Heroes in this action-packed series. Through the show's season two 12 Animated Adventures in this 2-Disc Collection, the Dark Knight allies with Aquaman, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Wildcat, Deadman, Bronze Tiger and Atom to take on an array of evildoers ranging from mad scientists to intergalactic crooks, from power-mad dictators to out-of-control teenagers.

You can buy Batman The Brave and The Bold Season 2, Part 1 DVD online at the WBShop.com

Failed Assumptions

I always try not to assume things. It never ends on a good note. My husband says when you Assume something you make an A**-U-Me as in when you assume you make an a** out of you and me lol.

Well sadly last night my poor little baby cried for about 20 minutes because I assumed it was my husbands cousins son. We had a few cousins over for my son to play with and they had a mini slumber party. After all the kids passed out I went into my room to lay down. A few hours later I heard crying that was so sad. I did not think it was my son since he was out like a light when I put him in his crib. Plus it was a cry like I have never heard! I thought it was my husbands 1 year old so I just stayed in bed trying not to be a busy body about why the little guy wouldn't go back to sleep. I thought to myself they will figure it out go back to sleep.

Well apparently they thought the same thing about my son. They assumed I knew it was my Bubba and that we were tying to sleep train him to be on his room on his own. None of us wanted to tell one another how to parent so my sweet Bubba cried and cried. I got up about 15 minutes later to see if who I thought was crying needed a baba warmed up. I came down the hall way to hear the cries coming from my own son's room.

My heart sunk when I realized it was my boy! I felt horrible that I had not rescued him. Normally at night if he cries I am in there like a swift water rescue team to see what he needs. He was sitting up in his crib binkie still in his mouth crying at the top of his lungs. He whimpered like a puppy when I picked him up. It broke my heart that he was so upset. He fell asleep when all the kids were still in the living room playing so when he woke up alone in the dark I am sure he was scared. After a baba and some snuggling he was fine but oh my I was not. I felt horrible that by assuming it was "someone else kid" that my little guy had to get so upset. From now on I will not assume things when it comes to babies!

Pounce Book Review and Giveaway

As many of my readers know my son loves Cats. One of his first few words after mama and dada was kitty cat. I wanted to review this book for him. He liked it when I read it to him. Its a simple and sweet book. We did our own Pouncing after we read it. The overall story is to use your imagination to dream of bigger and better things. Only thing I would improve is the book could have been a bit longer.

Pounce is the true story of an adventurous kitten that climbs, explores, and gets into trouble.  Through his strong imagination, Pounce explores deep, dark caves, climbs mountains, skates across icy glaciers, and camps out in harsh climates.

Based on actual photos of Pounce and the recollections of those who loved him, the story and its visuals create a magical setting for the little cat to explore his world and express his dreams.
