He Thinks Hes a Big Boy

I am having one of the sentimental days where I can believe how big my son has gotten. Every experienced parent tells you as a new parent savor it, time flies by and they will grown up faster than you think. I thought I was and try my best to it just seems he thinks he is a big boy! He wears his Dads shoes around the house, he wants to walk around on his own places (no more insisting Mama carries him) and he wants to sit in a regular chair. The cute part is the mimicking he does. He will grab the phone and jibber jabber then yell BubBye! He always wants to use my pen and note pad (He picks up on my listing habits!) and he knows how to switch the DVDs in the DVD player and change the mode on the remote so he can see his movie, and hes only 19 months old! Who is this mini man who now tells me No and shakes his head, who carries what he wants me to buy him in the store (he had a large can of spaghetti O's, a pack of fruit snacks and a pack of cookies all in his arms at the grocery store the other day) and who no longer needs a Baba to soothe him to sleep. Where is the tiny needy baby that I used to carry around the house!

Eco Lunch Gear Reusable Snack Bags Review and Giveaway

I have been on a personal mission to stop with so many plastic bags, paper towels and plastic bottles. Each time I find a new product to help with my mission I am so pleased! Before my son was born I did not realize how much plastic waste I created. Being a mom now I seem to think more of the health of the planet and my ability to change things. Eco Lunch Gear reusable snack bags and sandwich wraps are great in helping me stop my plastic waste. They are easier to clean then some other brands since you can open them all the way to wipe them clean. On the other hand it also means my little guy can open it up all the way to shake out what ever is in the bag. He is figuring out that part though and tries his best to keep his snacks closed in it. I also like the cloth napkins they would definitely help me to reduce my paper towel consumption while also matching my snack bags. They have cute designs too!

Did We Find Barney?

My son adores Barney! I always said to myself my kids won't watch Barny, that was before I was a mom and boy was I wrong. My son loves the singing, the dancing, the characters and the mix of characters and kids in the shows. We went to a park the other day and he found a purple dinosaur near the swings.

He hugged it, kissed it and gave it pats on the head. It was so sweet! He can't say Barney but he sure did sway back and forth and bob up and down like he could hear the music in his head. I think in his mind we had found Barney!

Costume Super Center Giraffe Costume Review

I have to admit I love to put my son in costumes! Its so fun to play make believe when you have the outfit to make it more real. He seems to think its fun and silly too. Even while I was pregnant with him I purchase costumes for him. His birthday is a month after Halloween and the clearance costumes were hard to resist. Thankfully I found Costume Super Center, they have reasonable prices all year long for costumes. We have a lobster, a monkey, an elf and now a GIRAFFE!

A giraffe costume is a big deal around here since my sons best friend, his stuffed animal is a giraffe. He carries that stuffed animal everywhere and can not fall asleep without him. When I showed him the Giraffe Costume she squealed. He hugged it and kissed it and when he realized it was something to put on he sat down ready to be dressed in it. Normally its like wrestling an alligator to get clothes on him but for his giraffe costume he was completely docile and loved wearing it.

When I took him to the mirror so he could see himself he smiled so big and laughed. He carried around his stuffed giraffe and together we pretended we were giraffes grazing grass. Its is so cute to see him get lost in the moment of pretend with me. Sometimes I think I am having more fun than him though! It melts my heart to see him in a costume.

I think costumes can be worn anytime of the year. Its a fun way to play make believe with your kids and with the great prices at Costume Super Store its worth it. Plus they are good costumes you can hand down to your younger children. Or even donate to a school or charity when your kids out grown them. Here in Northern California there was a pirate festival that I thought ohhh I need a costume for that. We did not make it to the festival but next year I want to go and dress up! I  found the cutest pirate costume that I would want my son to wear.
