HIT Entertainment 3 pack DVD Review and Giveaway

I am a huge fan of buying DVDs in our house. I prefer them over letting my son watch TV and seeing commercials. I like that I can pre-watch a DVD to see if it is something I want him to see as well. Plus I refuse to pay for cable call me frugal but I do not want pay to watch advertisements! I am happy to have found HIT Entertainment and the great characters they have. Of course I have my favorites, my son his and we have been discovering new ones along the way.

Timmy Time Picture Day is a really cute movie! I like the claymation type of characters (reminded me of my old pals Gumby and Pokey, who Sam nor our older brother would watch with me lol) My son watched so closely there are no words really in the Timmy movies. It was like he was making it up in his head what he knew they were saying since he does a lot of the grumbling, pointing and showing like they do.

This DVD it was picture day and there were the ordinary follies that little ones have with getting their pictures taken. It was cute and my son giggled a lot. Overall I liked the sweetness of Timmy Time. You can find Timmy's website here.  We went to the County fair last weekend and when we saw a sheep I yelled "Look its Timmy!" Another kid looked at me and smiled so I think he might have been a fan too!

Fireman Sam was a fun movie to watch. We loved this since fireman are heroes! I liked the Britishness (if thats a word lol) of it. Sam has an accent a bit and it made it fun to watch for me and I am sure my son didn't notice. I thought it was a perfect one to watch after Timmy Time since there was a sheep story in this DVD as well. The little boy stays home from school and has to watch over a sheep. They get in a bit of mischief and Fireman Sam saved the day! There are a few episodes on this DVD and the run time is 55 minutes. My son liked Sam and his fellow fireman since it is like the rescue heroes he watches on TV. Fireman Sam has his own website here.

Of course my son absolutely adored this DVD since it had three of his favorite characters, Barney, Thomas the Train and Bob the Builder! Preschool Fun included 8 adventures from the Barney, Angelina ballerina, Thomas the Train, Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder,  Rory the Race Car, and more! My son liked of course his favorites and I could tell he was excited to see different characters one after the other. Even the Angelina Ballerina wasn't as girly as I thought it would be. There are male dancers that do hip hop and play music, definitely different form the Angelina I read as a kid. It was a great DVD to have. If you have never watched any of the HIT Entertainment characters I would suggest purchasing this one for you and your kids to see what the characters are like.

Bob the Builder Dino Dig DVD Review

Can we Build It? Yes We Can! I think that is so great about the Bob the Builder shows that he is so positive and overcomes what ever obstacles that he comes across. We have contractors in our family that paint, build and are Mr. Fix Its so it makes me adore Bob even more. My son loves to dance to the theme song.

He can't read yet but he always turns a DVD over to look at! Too cute!

What I liked about this DVD is that is had dinosaurs!  We love dinos around here and it made this DVD even more fun! I like the sharing and learning with Bob the Builder and his friends. In this DVD they are building an amusement park when their digging around uncovers bones from the past. Its a really cute one. I love the soft colors of the Bob the Builder cartoons. I look forward to watching more Bob the Builder with my son when the next DVD is available. You can but this DVD at Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon.

You can help Huggies with their campaign to diaper "Every Little Bottom". You can donate online, upload a pic of your little one in a Huggies diaper on their facebook wall, like pics uploaded by others to the Huggies facebook wall,  attend a diaper drive and even start your own diaper drive. There is a ton of info on this on the site here.

If you collect Huggies Rewards points you can donate some of your points on the Enjoy the Ride Rewards page. Every 2 points equals 1 diaper. I have already donated enough for 5 diapers. Its not much but every diaper counts!

He Thinks Hes a Big Boy

18 months old wearing Daddy's shoes.

I am having one of the sentimental days where I can believe how big my son has gotten. Every experienced parent tells you as a new parent savor it, time flies by and they will grown up faster than you think. I thought I was and try my best to it just seems he thinks he is a big boy! He wears his Dads shoes around the house, he wants to walk around on his own places (no more insisting Mama carries him) and he wants to sit in a regular chair. The cute part is the mimicking he does. He will grab the phone and jibber jabber then yell BubBye! He always wants to use my pen and note pad (He picks up on my listing habits!) and he knows how to switch the DVDs in the DVD player and change the mode on the remote so he can see his movie, and hes only 19 months old! Who is this mini man who now tells me No and shakes his head, who carries what he wants me to buy him in the store (he had a large can of spaghetti O's, a pack of fruit snacks and a pack of cookies all in his arms at the grocery store the other day) and who no longer needs a Baba to soothe him to sleep. Where is the tiny needy baby that I used to carry around the house!

My little man at 3 months old. The flash always bugged him!

Eco Lunch Gear Reusable Snack Bags Review and Giveaway

I have been on a personal mission to stop with so many plastic bags, paper towels and plastic bottles. Each time I find a new product to help with my mission I am so pleased! Before my son was born I did not realize how much plastic waste I created. Being a mom now I seem to think more of the health of the planet and my ability to change things. Plus my son bites, grabs and tries to rip anything he gets his hands on.

The ones we reviewed. You get to pick your own pattern if you win!

Eco Lunch Gear reusable snack bags and sandwich wraps are great in helping me stop my plastic waste. They are easier to clean then some other brands since you can open them all the way to wipe them clean. On the other hand it also means my little guy can open it up all the way to shake out what ever is in the bag. He is figuring out that part though and tries his best to keep his snacks closed in it. I also like the cloth napkins they would definitely help me to reduce my paper towel consumption while also matching my snack bags. They have cute designs too!

Eco Lunch Gear has offered my readers a coupon code to use:

Did We Find Barney?

My son adores Barney! I always said to myself my kids won't watch Barny, that was before I was a mom and boy was I wrong. My son loves the singing, the dancing, the characters and the mix of characters and kids in the shows. We went to a park the other day and he found a purple dinosaur near the swings.

He hugged it, kissed it and gave it pats on the head. It was so sweet! He can't say Barney but he sure did sway back and forth and bob up and down like he could hear the music in his head. I think in his mind we had found Barney!

What characters do your kids or grandkids love that you thought it was just silly?

Costume Super Center Giraffe Costume Review

I have to admit I love to put my son in costumes! Its so fun to play make believe when you have the outfit to make it more real. He seems to think its fun and silly too. Even while I was pregnant with him I purchase costumes for him. His birthday is a month after Halloween and the clearance costumes were hard to resist. Thankfully I found Costume Super Center, they have reasonable prices all year long for costumes. We have a lobster, a monkey, an elf and now a GIRAFFE!

A giraffe costume is a big deal around here since my sons best friend, his stuffed animal is a giraffe. He carries that stuffed animal everywhere and can not fall asleep without him. When I showed him the Giraffe Costume she squealed. He hugged it and kissed it and when he realized it was something to put on he sat down ready to be dressed in it. Normally its like wrestling an alligator to get clothes on him but for his giraffe costume he was completely docile and loved wearing it.

Getting his costume on.

When I took him to the mirror so he could see himself he smiled so big and laughed. He carried around his stuffed giraffe and together we pretended we were giraffes grazing grass. Its is so cute to see him get lost in the moment of pretend with me. Sometimes I think I am having more fun than him though! It melts my heart to see him in a costume.

My sweet Giraffe and his best friend

I think costumes can be worn anytime of the year. Its a fun way to play make believe with your kids and with the great prices at Costume Super Store its worth it. Plus they are good costumes you can hand down to your younger children. Or even donate to a school or charity when your kids out grown them. Here in Northern California there was a pirate festival that I thought ohhh I need a costume for that. We did not make it to the festival but next year I want to go and dress up! I  found the cutest pirate costume that I would want my son to wear.

From the site only $9.99! Id love my son to wear this one!

Being the Frugal mama I am I found a bunch of great deals on many costumes. There is a Chewbacca costume for only $9.99!! While searching the site I realized they have Pet Costumes! So cute! Now all I need is matching costumes for the dog and my son!

We Love Blueberry anything!

Oh Blueberries how my family loves you! In muffins, pancakes, with whipped cream, in yogurt, and the best plain! My son adores blueberries, he eats them at least every other day. I love them too! Plus they are the only fruit that is blue, my favorite color and a superfood!

I have been trying to come up with new ways to incorporate blueberries into our meals. Do you have any great blueberry recipes?

Its not a pretty pancake but its so good! So many berries it turned the batter blue. I called them Smurf cakes!
