Boston Market Holiday Meals Review

In my house we have been Boston Market Fans for over 15 years! My husband introduced me to the restaurant. Prior to that I had never heard of the place. We have many great memories of eating their food. Some of our first few dates we would get food from there and go to the river or park to have a picnic. I love their Chicken Tortilla Soup, its addictive its so good. All these years later we are still eating there.

The first Thanksgiving my son was born he was only a little over a week old and there was no way I was going to cook a Thanksgiving dinner. We ordered a Boston Market Holiday Meal that year and oh my was it good! Their Pecan Pie is delicious. All the traditional items were included the meal. The following year for Thanksgiving we made all the tradition items at home but when it was time to eat my turkey was not cooked all the way and its was getting late! I was so upset that I messed up the most important part of the dinner. I was trying to go all out making it special for my son. Thankfully I remembered Boston Market was open late that day and I drove as fast as I could (of course within the speed limit lol I so did not want a ticket on top of a under cooked turkey!) When got there they was only 20 minutes until closing and I got all the Turkey I needed. Plus it was already sliced and came with gravy! That year Boston Market saved Thanksgiving from being a side dish only dinner.

This year I decided I want to enjoy Thanksgiving of watching the parade, playing with my son and just relaxing. I did not want to stress over cooking or under cooking in my case and the huge clean up involved with the Turkey Dinner. We did not know exactly what we would order from Boston Market this year. We did not know how many people were coming over or if everyone would be going to another family members home.

It ended up being only 4 of us and we purchased a Turkey Dinner Family Meal from Boston Market. It was perfect for us. Just enough to have a great Thanksgiving Meal. My mother in law brought over a few side dishes and some home made turkey she made. The funny part was her turkey remained untouched and her sides got cold! We all agreed the Boston Market food was way better than the food she made. She commented next year she will bring MORE Boston Market to add to ours.

One of my favorite items from Boston Market is the Creamed Spinach. Its amazing! No matter how many times I try to duplicate it or try it made from someone else its never the same. Their Turkey is soooo good. Its cooked perfectly and fork cutting soft. The corn bread is a classic item from there and in the shape of little mini loafs, too cute!

The Corn bread went so fast there was only a few left when I had a chance to take a picture!
Each of us had a plate full of delicious food

This year for the December Holidays you and your family should try Boston Market Family Meals as an option for a stress free holiday dinner. Boston Market is also great as a day after or before meal for family and friends gathered at your home so you can have a simple solution to feeding everyone quality food that taste great!

At Boston Market Restaurants you can get a $5 Gift Card for purchasing a $25 Gift Card from now until Jan. 31, 2012. The offer is not available for online purchases.

Pregnancy 2.0 Mommy Party

This weekend I was hosting a Pregnancy 2.0 party for my Mommy friends and even some Husbands and Kids of my Mommy friends. We made it a family affair! We got some really great products from places like BabyPlus Prenatal Education System, Britax. And some goodie bag items from Snuggle Buddy, and Xlear.

Here was the table set up for the party with the goodie bags and some yummy snacks!!

The first product that we reviewed was the Baby Plus Prenatal Education System. Baby Plus is a little belly machine that you wear for one hour twice a day for noises that resemble a mother's heartbeat. Very cool little device, wish I had known about it when I was pregnant with my boys.

Here is what Baby Plus is saying about their product-

The BabyPlus curriculum is a series of 16 naturally derived sounds that resemble a mother's heartbeat. The rhythm of the sounds increases incrementally as the pregnancy progresses. The BabyPlus sonic pattern introduces your child to a sequential learning process, built upon the natural rhythms of their own environment.
This "auditory exercise" strengthens learning ability during the developmental period when the advantages will be most significant and enduring for a child. BabyPlus is the first educational tool designed for prenatal use that has been proven effective. BabyPlus children have an intellectual, developmental, creative, and emotional advantage from the time they are born. Your baby can very clearly hear these patterns. She/he learns to discriminate between the sound coming from the mother and those from BabyPlus. In other words, learning has begun.

Here JJ and I are enjoying each other as the baby listens.

The next products were from Britax, oh man do I love them. Great quality products from a great company. They sent us three great products to test out!

Our BRITAX products!!

We got the B-Safe Car seat, and it is red which I love! The car seat is lightweight and holds up to 30 pounds, designed to carry your child through the first years. It was so easy to click in and out of the base, everyone said how they were so surprised at how lightweight it really was. The Britax B-safe is designed to click and go into the Britax B series strollers.

The B- Agile stroller is compatible with the car seat and has a lightweight aluminum frame that weighs 16.5 pounds total! We ended up having this item as the giveaway because with a small child and one on the way a double stroller is a must for us these days. Our winner is a pregnant Mama herself do she was over the top happy about this!!!
Lastly we got to try out the Britax Baby Carrier in black. I just love their carriers, they are ergonomic, soft and really well made. The top part where your babies head goes has a soft terry cloth material just seems so snugly and soft. Love it!

A few of the ladies Ohhhing and Ahhhing over the carrier :)

Haha here is our littlest one "trying" out his soon to be sisters seat!!! Even carrying him around in the seat it was not too bad ;)

Of coarse the kids favorite part of the party... THE BOXES!!

Disclosure:  I was provided with products from Britax and MommyParties to review and use with my guests.  No monetary compensation was received.  Any and all opinions are my own.  To learn more about MommyParties, please visit their website at http://www.mommyparties.com/

Green Toys My First Blocks Review and Giveaway Holiday Gift Guide

Blocks have been something I have wanted for my son for a while now. With him he sticks every in his mouth and throws things with the force of a quarter back. I wanted BPA free and light weight blocks he could enjoy. He has been stacking and sorting a lot and I knew it was time to find him the right blocks.

Green Toys makes products that are BPA free, No Phylates, or external coatings on the blocks making them safe for my little guy. He takes a bite out of everything! Their products are made in USA and of recycled plastic milk containers. How cool is that!

My son was sent the Green Toys My First Block Set. The blocks are big, colorful and light enough that I wont get a knot on my head when my son decides its a good time to practice throwing it like a football. But they are weighted enough that he can build stuff and have his stuffed animals sit on top of his creations.

As soon as my son opened up the box he knew exactly what to do. We started building towers that we sat his stuffed animals, action figures and even tried to fit a pillow pet on top of. He had so much fun building with them and not so much knocking them over. I thought he would blast then down but he liked his creations and if they fell over he has me fix it for him. So cute to watch him play with them and his other toys together.

We also have a dump truck made by Green Toys that I really like. Its rugged and works great! We plan on adding more Green Toys to our toy box as time goes by. I see the Green Toys all the time at our local Whole Foods and would love to get my son the Tug Boat.

Label Shopper Clothing Review and $25 Giveaway Holiday Gift Guide

I don't buy a lot of clothes for myself, but when I do, I look for things that are well made and long lasting. These items might cost a little more, but I think investing in quality is extremely smart and frugal in the long run. I do have some favorite designer labels, but those labels usually come at a high price. So I was happy when I came across an online clothing site that offers designer labels at a fraction of their original prices. Label Shopper.com is a great place to take advantage of brand new, designer name cancellations or over-runs by manufactures. Often, the merchandise offered for sale here is simply the result of stores having to make room for newer items.

Label Shopper is a great place to shop if you love getting great deals. The blouse I am wearing here is a black knit ruffle pattern front with 3/4 inch sleeves. It's a designer label that has been deeply discounted. It is dressy enough for a night on the town, or can be casual enough to be paired with jeans. The fit is great and I love the feel of the material and ruffled front.

The pants are khaki denim, straight leg, and are a very well known designer brand. These jeans come with built-in slimming panels that will help shape your curves, and flatten your tummy with ease. These jeans are absolutely comfortable, and the khaki color will easily go with everything in your wardrobe. I will be shopping at Label Shopper again soon. I just love getting great bargains on all my favorite designers.

Use the Code frugalfamily25 to save 25% off an order of $15 or more. One time use per customer.
