Juppy Baby Walker Review and Giveaway Birthday Bash

With Baby L learning to walk and always on the move when we heard about The Juppy Baby Walker I was intrigued.
The Juppy is a  portable walker you can take anywhere, it is a new way to assist your baby in walking without all of the back pain. It sounded interesting to me so I was willing to try it. When we first put Baby L in the Juppy he was pretty excited, wondering what we were up to and why we were so excited. We zipped him up, adjusted the straps and started to walk. For some reason Baby L thought that he was in a jumper or something because he stated to jump up and down and would not quit! I had a hard time holding up the straps because he was bearing all of his weight on me. After a while we got the hang of it and he was attempting to walk, after wearing himself out from jumping!

I think that it would have been great for my husband or someone with more arm strength, who could withstand all of the weight of a almost 1 year old. I like the idea of this walking tool but, I am a little old school so adapting to this new device was a little strange to me but I could see some parents really benefiting from the Juppy Baby Walker. I could also see in the short time we tried it out that he was growing confidence in his ability to "walk" on his own.

Here is a little background from their web site:

Belvedere Designs Wall Quotes Review and $50 G.C. Giveaway Birthday Bash

We had the chance to review another great wall quotes company, this time from Belvedere Designs. They make rub-on transfer vinyl lettering and wall quotes for every room in your house if you wanted!

I selected this one!

Under the Boys Room Wall Quotes we chose the Because I have a Brother, I'll always have a Friend quote to hang up. I love anything that has brother on it or family because that is what it is all about. My Mom instilled in us very young a relationship between brothers and sisters is important and should be cherish. I feel like your friends may come and go but a sibling is FOREVER. I love the relationships I have with both my brothers and sisters and want my sons to have that same to feel the same way about each other. I know that they will fight and make up many times, but I am hoping once they can read that if they look up and see the reminder I have put in their rooms that they always remember what a brother means. A reminder that your brother is your best friend. They are so simple to use, you just pull it off the paper and stick it, that easy.

The Belvedere website offers so many options. There are Pre-Designed Wall Sayings & Vinyl Wall Art with categories in each to chose from, there is custom lettering and custom graphics. They have some really cool wall art stickers with animals the boys would love and some Hawaiian and Beach decals that might look good in our master bedroom!

What's Eating Your Child Book Review and Giveaway

As a kid I was a crazy picky eater. I am sure I drove my parents nuts but they always tried their best to accommodate me. My mother is a saint since I had no real reason to not like things, just quarks as to why I wouldn't eat something. I can recall many times my mom making sure my hamburgers didn't have anything on it "plain" only! I also remember throwing a fit at the fact there was onions in my burrito a time a two. My mom had 5 of us to feed and I was always so picky. I would get anxiety often times at my friends houses since I did not know what they would be feeding me. Oddly I LOVE onions now and eat them sauteed with garlic as a snack! Another thing I refused to eat was seafood, even though I loved tuna in a can. I found out at 18 that I am allergic to shellfish. I am not sure if it was from avoiding it or like I tell myself I must have know, yeah right!

The new book I just read is called What's Eating Your Child? by Kelly Dorfman. Its about the hidden connection between food and childhood aliments. I was eager to read this since I do not want my son to be a picky eater like me and to learn about things for the future. It covers nutrition, food reactions, moods and food and learning behaviors. The book is more like a how to rather than a medical book. I found it helpful for many eating situations.

As I was reading about how important it is to eat breakfast, yes we all know this right, but I did read something I have often thought was a good idea and I do this with my son. Eating your biggest meal for breakfast like fish and rice or even a turkey burger. I know most people would not do this but for my son it works. He loves to have dinner food early in the morning. Since he is not very hungry at dinnertime I have been switching his meal order. When I was in elementary school my sister and I were friends with a girl whose family was from Poland. The always had a huge breakfast with heavy rich foods and for dinner it was lighter and more fresh. I found it odd since we loved pancakes or cereal for breakfast. It works for my son and logically it seems you should start the day out big and taper off towards dinner. I told my husband I might try this on myself to see if it helps me control my weight more.

There is a few chapters on Diary and Gluten that would be very helpful for if your child has these allergies or suspect they might. I found it interesting that what is often referred to as "super tasters" can be a result of low zinc levels. I thought as a teenager and a young adult that maybe I disliked stuff for that reason. And sure enough after reading this book zinc is mostly in seafood and green veggies, two things I refused to eat. I used to say salads tasted like dirty grass and I will not eat things that I swim with (the ocean!). As an adult with my husband telling me your an adult and this is silly lol I now eat tons of stuff with zinc minus shellfish since I am allergic and I am not really a super taster anymore. I do think some of it is linked to my migraines and smells more than taste.

There are chapters on essential fatty acids, artificial additives and pesticides. When I eat some bananas my mouth swells up and gets itchy. I am not allergic to bananas and I am sure it is due to pesticide use. What's Eating Your Child?  is filled with case stories from the author who is a nutritionist that I am sure many parents can relate to. I found this book to be super informative not only for kids but for adults. I will keep this book in my collection for a reference for me, my kids and for friends. I would recommend this to you even if you don't feel like your child has any connections to behavior and food.

Wall Pops Review and Giveaway Birthday Bash

When decorating a nursery I tend to just see what comes to life as I add colors and things. I am not really a theme type person. I like colors, shapes and off the wall things that still go together but don't actually match. I like the idea of having a saying something over the babies bed, you know something cute but not over the top? Wall Pops has some really good ones and I was excited to check them out. I wanted something boyish but also sweet for Baby L's room. In the baby section I chose the Star Light, Star Bright-Wall Wishes. It is a total of 27 pieces that you peel off and put up on the wall. It was so easy, I just copied the picture provided and it only took a few minutes. Easy I tell you!

(Here is the one I picked)

Here are some facts on Wall Pops -
  • Peel and stick
  • Repositionable, and Always Removable
  • Safe for Walls
  • No sticky residue
  • Quick, and Easy
The website also offers Design Ideas, Create a Design and Window Decor for your living room or bedroom. They also have your children favorite characters like Disney, Nickelodeon, and Superheros.

I love the way it turned out in Baby L's room, it really looks sweet over his bed. I recommend this product to anyone that wants to add a little personal touch to a room without it looking like every other nursery out there.

Sugar Booger Ore Product Review Birthday Bash

We are an on-the-go snack family. Whenever we go anywhere we do not forget a snack, heaven forbid we forget a snack, our world may come crashing down. I am going to go ahead and blame my Mom for this one, she started it years ago when we were kids. Haha.

You never know when you may need a refuel of energy or a boost of something tasty, although we always try to make it healthy. Most of the time it is just easier to grab a "baggie" or a sandwich bag and toss the snack in there. It saves time and energy but does not save on our carbon footprint that is for sure! Ore products has helped us move towards a "greener" on-the-go snack bag. Ore carries several lines of product like the Orepet, Living Goods and the Sugarbooger collection.

We were able to review the Good Lunch Snack Set from the Sugarbooger line. These are reusable, washable cute little bags for snacks or lunches. There are different designs to chose from and we went with the Hungry Monsters design. This snack set includes 2 fabric and one see-through snack sacks perfect for on the go. I love the design and colors that these bags come in! Very stylish I must say. My 4 year old was so excited to see these new bags and could not wait to put his snacks in them! We took them out that very day and they were great. We put cheerios for the baby in the see-through bag, crackers and apples in the other 2 bags for JJ. These bags are easy to wash, the fabric ones go in the washing machine to clean and then air dry. The see-through one you hand wash and it can stain so I recommend being careful what you put in there and clean it out right away. Another great things about the Ore Good Lunch Snack Set is they are BPA-Free, Phthalate-Free, Lead-Free and PVC-Free. Love the products Ore carries and we will definitely be picking up a few more of these handy bags for the future.

*I was not paid or compensated for this post. The opinions in this post are 100% mine and may vary from other opinions. I was provided for free the snack bags mentioned in this post for my review.
