Frosch Cleaning Supplies Review #MomsMeet #Frosch

*I received this product for free from the sponsor of the Moms Meet program, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my opinion on my blog. My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions of May Media Group LLC or the manufacturer of this product.

Being someone who suffers from migraines I am always aware of the scent of things. There have been many instances in my life that terrible migraines have started by a bad chemical smell in household cleaning supplies. Not only am I aware of the chemical smell I am often concerned about what else the harsh chemicals can be doing to my family.

I have tried several organic and eco friendly cleaning supplies brands over the years searching to find a brand I could use daily and have it work. ( I love having a sparkling clean home!)

I recently learned about the brand Frosch through Moms Meet. They are a German based eco friendly company that makes natural plant based cleaning products that are skin friendly without damaging chemicals. Frosch has been a popular brand in Europe and is now finally available in the USA.

My favorite of the Frosch brand items I reviewed was the All Purpose Cleaner Baking Soda Spray. I love using an all purpose cleaner for counter tops and surfaces. This product worked great and left no smells or residue behind. If it can clean the bathroom my 6 year old son uses it can certainly clean the rest of the house. I have made my own household cleaners with a baking soda base but this was much easier and worked better.

Oh how I loved the lavender scent of this Universal Cleaner! I have hardwood and tile floors with no carpet in my home. We are constantly cleaning floors from spills, foot traffic and more. I need a product that is gentle and smells good, this one is it. I often use the scent of lavender to ease my migraines and love the scent of it. Having a cleaning product smell that way was fabulous.

The Pomegranate dish soap was my favorite of the dish soaps they offer. I use a lot of hand sanitizer in my job outside of blogging and having dry hands I need a dish soap that is ph balanced and will not make my hands even drier. The product works well and makes my hands a tad softer than I started out with, very nice!

The Lemon Toilet Bowl Cleaner did require some scrubbing after letting the product sit for a while. But I figured a little effort with a toilet brush was worth not having the harsh smell of bleach.

Zuvo Water Review and Giveaway

                                                 Zuvo™ Water

I love feeling like I am giving my family a healthy start with everything from the food we eat to the water we drink. Zuvo Water is helping me do that with clean healthy water and it's five step process using nature's own cleaning process right in my kitchen. A Zuvo Water Filtration system can easily be installed above the counter right to your faucet or under the counter for a space saving idea. It treats non-pathogenic organisms, taste and odor contaminants, reduces aesthetic chlorine, lead, and tiny particulates that can be in your tap water using a UV light.

Countertop                       Under Counter

What I like about Zuvo Water is how easy it is to install, we installed it under the counter, we have limited counter space in our kitchen so it was great to have that option. Our water tastes crisp and clean with just the run of the filtration system. The boys are trying to sneak under the sink to watch the bubbles as the water filters through!

There are two models to choose from, the Zuvo Water Filtration System - 300 and 100 Series, here is some information about the Series and differences-

There are two different series of the Zuvo Water Filtration System including the 100 and 300 Series.

There are a number of key differences between the two series. The 300 Series systems include both a filter indicator light and buzzer to tell you when to change your filter. This takes the guesswork out of knowing when to change your filter.

Another key difference is that the 300 Series systems come with a high-capacity filter (400 gallon filter life) and the 100 Series systems come with a standard-capacity filter (250 gallon filter life).

The 300 Series systems include a charcoal-colored reservoir, and the 100 Series systems include a clear-colored reservoir.

All Zuvo replacement filters including the standard-capacity, high-capacity and VOC filters are compatible with all Zuvo systems. A standard- or high-capacity filter combined with any Zuvo system reduces the following water contaminants: chlorine taste and odor, lead, cysts (Cryptosporidium and Giardia), tiny particulates and non-pathogenic microorganisms.

Any Zuvo system combined with a VOC (volatile organic compounds) filter reduces all water contaminants that the standard- and high-capacity filters do plus VOCs (volatile organic compounds). The VOC filter has a filter life of 250 gallons.

An added bonus, if you often buy water bottles this is also a money saving and better for the planet solution. Nice!

Bona Mop Review and Giveaway - Fall Home Event

Over the summer we had our kitchen floors redone. We had a leaky roof ruin the floors! We wanted to make sure that we kept the new floors clean as can be. I love cooking in a kitchen that has sparkling clean floors! We wanted to find a cleaner that had two things, a washable cleaning cloth and be non toxic cleaning formula. My son is always wanting to help me clean. I have to explain to him its for grown ups and he gets sad, the poor kid oddly loves to clean. He likes to feel like he is helping out his mom, so sweet! With mopping its normally a smelly and toxic mess! No good for kids to be around during that. My search begun for a floor mop that I could easily use in my home and not have to worry as much about my little guy wanting to be my helper. We decided on Bona and have been thrilled with the results.

Great info about Bona. These fact are the reason we selected a Bona Floor Cleaner for our home:

Bona reuses materials within their own production, and also design their products to reduce landfill clutter. The Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pads are machine washable up to 300 times, saving you money and protecting our shared environment.

Bona waterborne floor cleaners are safe for floors, families, and the environment. Bona's specially-developed non-toxic and biodegradeable formula also limits the harmful effects of downstream pollution.
Bona waterborne finishes have no toxic fumes and low VOC's so they are healthier for your family, pets, and the environment. In addition, there is no need to vacate your home during the finishing process due to fast dry times and easy water clean-up

I liked how easy the floor mop is to use. Its light weight and the cleaning solution snaps right in and is ready to use by the pull of a trigger. Even my little guy was having fun cleaning the floor. I told my husband its so easy to use our toddler could do it! I know my mother in law could use one of these in her home too!

Plus you can tell people that your floor cleaner is Bona just like one NBA uses since Bona is the Official Hard Floor Care Partner of the NBA. How cool is that! Cleans you house and the courts of famous basketball players.

I really love that the pad is washable!

Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal Review and Donation

Natural deodorants has been something I have been buying on and off for about 10 years now. This last year I have told myself I need to ONLY buy natural ones. I am concerned about the harmful aluminum and parabens in many brands on the shelf. After researching about breast cancer risks and deodorants I have made the personal choice to stick to natural ones.

There are many great brands on the market for Natural Deodorants. Price ranges can vary but one I have found that is affordable and at Walmart, Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal. Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal contains 100% Natural ingredients with no aluminum or parabens. It is also great for sensitive skin since its hypoallergenic and fragrance free. My husband loves this brand and its the only one he has used for about 5 years now. I go back and forth on brands but he is a loyal customer for sure!

I also reviewed the Moiststic Natural Lip Protection. I love the refreshing feel of it. The peppermint flavor was great. It reminds me of a much more expensive competitor brand but this one is much more affordable. The natural lip product contains Tea Tree Oil, Vitamin E, Beeswax, Coconut Oil, and Peppermint Oil.

The company that sells Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal is wonderful. They were so awesome to send me a big box of Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal to donate to one of my favorite local charities Roseville Home Start. Deodorant is on the Wish List on the Charities website. Its one of those items people might forget that people need donated.  It makes me beyond happy to be able to blog for good and make donations like this.

The Staff at Home Start is always welcoming to us and appreciates our donations.

To learn more about Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal you can be a fan Facebook and follow them on Twitter.

*I was not paid or compensated for this post. The opinions in this post are 100% mine. I was provided one deodorant and lip product for my review and donated the rest by the Company / PR Company for free.

Celebrating Earth Day

I love Earth Day. Began in 1970, Earth Day was started to draw attention to the damage we are doing to the earth and how we can stop it. Now celebrated around the world, the day is a celebration of the awareness of the love and care our planet needs to be healthy for generations to come.

I truly believe that it is our duty to educate our children and grandchildren, and show them ways to honor our Earth with care. This is done on a daily basis, and not just once a year. I have made a pledge to do 5 things everyday and to share them with my 4 young grandchildren.

1. To stop buying bottled water. The amount of bottles not recycled is shocking and they end up in landfills.

2. To recycle all glass, plastic, and paper products. I have been recycling since I was a teenager, and I want to pass on the importance to them.

3. To use green or natural products to clean and wash our clothes. Harsh fumes are toxic to our health.

4. To support companies that make products out of recycled products.

5. To make a small donation each month to The Rainforest Partnership or any organization that helps to protect the earth. Collected change adds up to dollars to donate.

Earth Day is April 22. How are you spending the day? If you live in the Seattle area, there are dozens of things to do to celebrate. From the University of Washington's Earth Day Fair, to the Seattle Children's Museum's educational programs, we can all get involved.

To me, Earth Day means celebrating this beautiful planet that we all share.

Truck Farm and Living the Country Life Magazine

I read many magazines on various topic. Business, Parenting, Working Moms, Home Decor, Music, Cooking and more. One magazine that I enjoy reading that is outside my own life is Living the Country Life. I live in the suburbs and a farm is no where near here. But its a dream of mine to live on one and grown plants and raise animals. It might be a far fetched dream but I have a love of farm life.

While reading this months edition of Living the Country Life magazine I read a small section about a non-profit organization called Truck Farm. Truck Farm is a fleet of pick up trucks that have gardens growing in the bed of the truck. Gives a new meaning to a flower bed lol.

Truck Farm is a organization that travels with the truck bed edible gardens to community groups and schools to bring the rural experience to urban environments. They have made a film about the story of Truck Farm and you can request to host a screening of the film. They are also trying to grow their fleet of trucks to reach far beyond the New York area through donations from communities like your own. They have obtained sponsors such as Ben & Jerry and Organic Valley and every bit of money helps.

I think this is a great idea for gardening and kids. Hopefully soon they will have a truck farm near you to share with your kids.

ReUse It Glass Water Bottle Review Holiday Gift Guide

Since my son has been born I have been much more aware of the trash we make and the plastics we use. Part of the time it was me analyzing how much disposal items like water bottles and sandwich bags cost and the other was a concern for the planet my son and his children and their children would be born into. (Feels kinda crazy to think my own son will be a grown up one day, hes only 2!) My son is his own little planet saver in his own right. He hates trash. He gets annoyed at the park or river if he sees trash. He has to pick it and give it to me and make sure I throw it away. Over the summer he was starting to walk to the trash can himself. He makes me laugh and smile that he is concerned about littering. One thing myself I hate to see is plastic bottles on the ground. We live near rivers that flow to the Pacific ocean and I hate to think that they might end up in the beautiful Pacific and in our local rivers. I have been working on cutting our plastic bottle consumption by buying drinks in larger bottles then filling up reusable containers.

I have tried plastic reusable but they can often scratch and be harder to clean out. We have even tried metal bottles that work good but would get very slippery when a cold drink had been in there for some time. With a glass bottle I can use a bottle brush to get out even the tiniest particles of my smoothies!

I really like the Glass Water Bottles we tried from ReUse It. They are large enough to carry my breakfast smoothies and perfect for taking my son some milk on the go. We use them for water, juice, hot coco and even last week soup we took to the park on a sunny but cool day.

The glass bottles are made by Lifefactory and have the coolest silicone sleeves on them. I poured ice cold Apple Juice in one of them and left it on the counter for over an hour. I wanted to see how much condensation would build up and if it would still be easy to grip. It past the test! Even my mother in law was impressed and now wants one for Christmas. Thankfully ReUse It is having a Holiday Sale so I just might get her a reusable glass bottle.

Product info:
  • BPA-free
  • Free of phthalates, PVC and polycarbonate
  • Silicone sleeve is free of plastics and 100% non-toxic
  • No chemical leaching and no metallic taste
  • Wide mouth for ice and easy cleaning
  • Bottle made in France, sleeve made in USA
  • Dishwasher safe

Glass water bottles by Lifefactory are a beautifully-designed alternative to plastic bottles and disposable water bottles. And, unlike stainless steel or cheap reusable bottles, there's no metallic or chemical aftertaste. Durable glass construction withstands daily use and provides fresh-tasting water - just like your regular drinking glasses at home. Colorful silicone sleeve protects your bottle and is easy to grip. Great for hot or cold beverages.

The only thing I would have liked is if it had a extra top that you could screw on that had a smaller sipping hole for when you are drinker warmer beverages. But they are wonderful bottles and great for home and on the go.

For more info about ReUse It and sales updates you can follow them on twitter and be a fan on facebook.

Nalgene BPA Free Water Bottle Review and Giveaway

We have tried many reusable bottles since my son was born. Some stainless steel and others plastic. With the stainless steel they can be a pain to hand wash and often have small drink holes. With plastic they have to be BPA Free and dishwasher safe. Thankfully more and more companies are realizing BPA free bottles are what people want.
I have been looking for a wide mouth plastic bottle that I can easily use. I am always thirsty and take something to drink with me anytime we go out and often to just hang out at home. With my little guy wanting to grab anything he sees having a lid on something I am drinking makes things easier. We found some great bottles for all our needs on the Nalgene website.

MultiDrink bottle

I had the opportunity to review a bottle by the company Nalgene. The MultiDrink bottle with a wide mouth and of course BPA free was the bottle we selected to review. I was so glad to see that the opening is as wide as the bottle. It made it super easy to toss ice into it and have great ice tea on the go. The pivoting straw and leak proof lock is great. We took it the park over the weekend and it was a hot day. We shared some grape juice with ease. Even after realizing it was on its side at the bottom of the diaper bag it still did not leak. Thankfully since it was purple grape juice!

On The Fly bottle

We also reviewed the OTF On The Fly BPA Free Bottle. I really liked the ease of use on this one. It was one hand open which for me is great since my hands are always multi-tasking. I can see this being very useful for sports and outdoor activities since its easy to use.
These would be great for back to school to save money on those costly juice boxes. Or for your kids after school activities to stay hydrated. We have been mixing our own juice and using BPA free bottles to be more frugal and earth friendly.
Nalgene offers two new products, the On-The-Fly (OTF) and the Multi-Drink water bottles that will help students of all ages stay hydrated in a cost-effective manner. Parents can save money on expensive bottled water by giving their kids these re-usable Nalgene water bottles! Whether young kids want to carry one of these around school as their newest accessory or older students need to stay hydrated while they play on their sports teams, kids of all ages going back to school will love these water bottles. These hydrating essentials with easy-to-use loop top caps are 100% leak proof so you don't have to worry about unwanted spills. You can sip, gulp, or slug with the Multi-Drink bottle, which has a straw and a sipping valve so you can have the best of both worlds. Kids will love to show up on the first day back to school with these hydrating essentials, which come in a variety of bright colors! Both of these products are BPA-free, under $15, and also make the perfect accessory to any of your favorite family-oriented activities.
