What Makes You a Wonder Woman? #sixflags #ad

*I was provided tickets to the park for my family to visit

On Saturday, August 12, you can meet Wonder Woman as part of the DC Super Hero Summer at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wonder Woman will be available on the Kingdom Stage to meet guests and fans alike. As a special treat, you can meet legendary comic book artist and writer Trina Robbins, take a photo and get an autograph.

Ms. Robbins is known as the first female comic book artist ever to illustrate Wonder Woman for DC Comics and is world renowned for her art, activism and writing. Ranked as one of the top 25 best female comics creators of all time, Ms. Robbins is also a published author and historian and is listed as one of 12 women cartoonists deserving a lifetime achievement recognition by Comics Alliance.

Guests can also ride the newest and most thrilling ride attraction, Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth, a mammoth pendulum swing ride that has been hailed as the best ride ever by some.

This year for my birthday I wanted to have a theme to celebrate. Having a family of superhero lovers and a Wonder Woman fan myself I decided I would make it a Wonder Woman celebration. We planned a trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to ride the new Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth and a trip to the theaters to see the new Wonder Woman movie.

My family always has a wonderful time when we visit Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. We have a few places we must visit on each trip, the Shark Experience and Butterfly Habitat are two of them. I feel like we have a new experience each time we visit them. This time when we went it was also Shark Week. We learned new facts about sharks, held a "Mermaids Purse" aka a nurse shark egg and also saw comic books that had shark characters in them.

As we walked around Six Flags I noticed that almost everyone there was wearing cool Superhero capes! Being the fun Mom I am I had to find out where the capes were being sold at. When we went to a store and I realized they were buy one get one free, the frugal side of me was elated! Of course my son and I both got a cape to wear around the park.

Most times we visit my son insists that my husband rides the family rides with him, it being my birthday my son wanted me to ride with him. Oh the fun I had watching him laugh and smile as we zoomed and whirled around on the rides. Even when he wanted to go on the same ride over and over I loved every moment of it!

I will admit I did not get on the Wonder Woman ride! I thought for sure I could do it but alas my fear of rides that are not on a track over came me. My son said I was still a "wonder woman" because of how hard I work and how sweet I am! That did make me feel a bit better. How we define ourselves as a "wonder woman" is entirely up to us. I work hard, love my family, take each opportunity I can to spread love and truth, just as the real Wonder Woman does.

What makes you a Wonder Woman?

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Fall Season Fun #discoverykingdom

* We received complimentary tickets to attend for our visit. All opinions expressed are my own.

To celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary this Fall my husband and I decided to take our son to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to celebrate. What a better way to celebrate our family than a fun day at a theme park all together.

My husband and I have been going to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for about 19 years now. We have created countless lasting memories as a couple and as parents on our visits to the park. We have have taken many family members over the years as guest to share our love of the park with them. It has changed so much over the years and has become more and more exciting.

My family and I enjoy the animal exhibits the most at Discovery Kingdom. Being able to see wild animals up close and open the door to learning is to me a wonderful thing. The Shark Experience is my favorite animal encounter. Walking through the underwater tunnel with sharks, sting rays and fish swimming above you amazes me every time I see it. It leaves me in awe of the beauty of sea life. My son loves seeing the sharks up close. He will stand there for as long as we let him just watching the sharks float all around as the fish go darting by.

The Dolphin Show is a must see for us, we ran from one side of the park to the other to get to the last showing of Drench!. The theme of the dolphin show has changed over the years and it has been memorable to see the creative ideas they have. It is amazing to see the dolphins jump through the air and splash the crowd sitting close. I still have it on my list of must do things to swim with a dolphin. I am hoping next year I can accomplish that!

One of my favorite things we did for this visit was the Elephant Ride we all took together as a family. My son was so excited and I must admit I was a bit nervous. I nervously chatted with the elephant trainer for our walk, I did learn a lot but wish I would have relaxed and enjoyed it like my son and husband had. Our picture did not turn out nice enough to buy, none of us were looking in the right direction at the same time. It was a very cool moment to pet an elephant and experience a ride.

Our trip would not be complete without a trip to the Butterfly Habitat. This is another exhibit that no matter how many times I have seen it, its never the same and I always enjoy the experience. I love to sit at the bench near the waterfall and see all of the colorful butterflies all around us. It is like being in a fairyland garden.

I love going to the park in the Fall when the temperatures are cooler and the crowds not as big as the summer. I can get hot coffee to enjoy, my son can wear long sleeves and I even wore jeans. I really do enjoy the Fall at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom the most.

We had a wonderful time as a family enjoying the park and all it has to offer. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a great local getaway in Northern California to take the family to on a weekend. Right now they are having special deals for season passes for 2017 that include this year 2016 Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park.

They are open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October for Fright Fest. During the day the park is family friendly and the Halloween decor adds to the fall fun. But as I have said before the night time during Fright Fest is a bit spooky and little ones may get scared. We usually leave before the spooky stuff starts to happen when we have attended Fright Fest and still have a wonderful time.

In November they are open on weekends and the 25th starts Holiday in the Park. You can follow Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for park updates, ticket specials and fun events on Instagram and Facebook.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Cirque Dreams Splashtastic Show and More!

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is our favorite place in Northern CA to visit. It has all the things that make an amusement park fun, rides, animal shows, good food and a friendly staff. The main thing we are looking forward to for our trip is the new Dolphin Show  Cirque Dreams Splashtastic

I was very excited to see the new show in the dolphin arena. I read about the show less than a month ago and have been waiting to see it. It is created by a Broadway Director and the creator of Cirque Dreams. The cast of the show are from 9 countries to create a well rounded and entertaining show.

The show was great! The costume and set design were very colorful and entertaining. The aerial acrobatics were amazing, there was a woman on a high rope swing and woman doing super cool hula hoop tricks. The was a set of men that were doing feats of strength! It was neat to see how strong they were. There was a balancing act that was neat to see but when on a bit too long. My son was losing interest and asked where the dolphins were. It was a great show, a nice addition to the park. I only wish there was more dolphin action. We sat too close to the speakers and did get a bit blasted by the music, next time we will sit higher up. It was fun to see, I am glad we took the time to see it.

My son LOVES animals so each time we saw one, he would ask for another one. We saw sting rays, seals, walruses, penguins and sharks!

One show we have not been able to see is the Elephant show. There are so many cool shows if you plan your day right you can see many of them. My son always asks about it and this time we set our phone alarm to make sure we saw it. Before the show we were able to see the trainers give the elephant a bath, we were so close to the elephant it was amazing!

Of course one of the cool parts of an amusement park is the RIDES! We stick to the kid rides as my husband and I are not thrill ride kinda people lol.

We had a WONDERFUL time at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. I love going several times a year since they are constantly having theme days and new events. We feel lucky to live close enough for a day trip to a Six Flags park. Its family friendly and we always have a great time having fun. This time I took my mother in law with us. She has never been to the park and was amazed at how much there was to do there. She rode many of the kid rides and even got on a horse on the merry go round. She said she had not been on a merry go round since my husband was a little kid. I love that at Six Flags even Grandma can become a kid again!

Anytime my son spots one of the Looney Toon characters we must stop to talk to them, give them a hug and take a picture. So cute!

Father's Day Idea: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Vallejo CA

I asked my husband what he wanted to do for Father's Day and he said surprise me with something fun, outdoors, the whole family can be there, good food and a great place to make memories. That could be many things, but for me I thought Six Flags!! We love going there as a family to enjoy the rides, eat the food and see the animal shows. Our son loves the dolphin and whale shows and even our nephew was just talking about the dolphin show that he saw at Discovery Kingdom last summer on their vacation to CA.

This year the dolphin show has a new theme, Cirque Dreams Splashtastic. The new show features a dazzling dramatic mix of mesmerizing dolphin performances along with spectacular Cirque Dreams feats that will create and entertainment experience beyond your wildest imagination.

This dynamic visual spectacle combines the Cirque Dreams acrobats’ amazing feats of strength with the graceful leaps and bows of the popular marine mammals at the park. The teaming of the internationally renowned company of acrobats, aerialists and astounding Cirque Dreams acts alongside the dolphins will amaze in the air, over water and throughout the Dolphin Harbor Theater.

We are so excited to be going to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to celebrate Father's Day and see the new Cirque Dreams Splashtastic!! My husband loves riding the kids rides with our son and eating tri tip sandwiches. This time I want to catch the elephant show, we seem to miss it each time. There is always so much to do in one day. Oh and the go carts, we want to ride those too.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Holiday Review

Did you get a chance to check out the Holiday Event at Six Flags? We had a few of our friends check out the one in Vallejo CA at Discovery Kingdom.

The park was filled with holiday decorations. Trees, presents, photo opp places and holiday cheer everywhere! There was hot cocoa to enjoy along with the regular treats like funnel cakes.

One of the great parts is the lines for all the rides were super fast! The summer time the lines can be really long so it was great to be able to ride many rides in one day. Some rides were shut down along with a few animal attractions but there was many Holiday themed animal shows like the Dolphin show.

They also had a snow-globe you could have your picture taken with you inside the thing and the toboggan sledding run, the lines were a little long but it was worth the wait for the fun. We enjoyed treats while we stood in line.

The animals are always a big draw to Discovery Kingdom and even the smallest of animals like this baby spider monkey were fun to watch. The baby monkey was interacting with the Santa hat our friends little girl was wearing for over 5 minutes through the reflections in the glass. Its those little moments at the park with the animals that make it a joy to return to Discovery Kingdom.

After wandering the park for hours taking in all the magic of the Holiday Season they rode a few more rides, had dinner and waited for the tree to be lit for the night. Over all they had a great time. Our friends definitely recommend the Holiday Park event at Six Flags. If you did not have a chance to check it out this year there is always next year where I am sure it will be filled with snow and magic!

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is closed for now and will reopen in March 16th 2013. They have many great new attractions coming to the park including:

Cirque Dreams SPLASHTASTIC: The Most Amazing Show Above H20

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is pleased to present the premiere of Cirque DreamsSplashtastic, featuring a dazzling dramatic mix of mesmerizing dolphin performances along with spectacular Cirque Dreams feats that will create and entertainment experience beyond your wildest imagination.
This dynamic visual spectacle combines the Cirque Dreams acrobats’ amazing feats of strength with the graceful leaps and bows of the popular marine mammals at the park. Six Flags Halloween Fright Fest: 3 More Weekends Left

Last weekend my family and I went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo CA for Halloween Fright Fest. It was such a FUN day! I thought since it was fright fest that it would be too much for my son but they day was filled with family friendly events.

For kids there is a Twick or Tweat area for candy, meeting Looney Toons characters, picture opportunities and fun pumpkin patch with a maze. My son loved it all.

The classic dolphins in the fountain were replaced with spooky creatures and the fountain water was dyed red for a creepy and fun look. There were all sorts of spooky and some creepy Halloween displays all over. We even saw a few witches!

I will say when the day turned into night it was a wild and spooky place! Funny enough my son fell asleep in his stroller at 7:30 as we were pushing him back to the Looney Toons area to ride the carousal. I am glad he did though! The place began to fill with spooky fog, zombies and monsters were lurking about and the Fright Fest was fully underway!! I did see tons of kids there, many getting scared as Halloween is intended and they all had smiles on their faces. We did a little bit of shopping before the 8:30 pm Halloween themed Dolphin show. All day my son had asked to see the dolphins and now he was sleeping like a rock!

But as soon as the music started for the Dolphin show my son woke up and said Dolphins! I am so glad he woke up to see the fun show. We loved it!! The show was so action packed my camera did not get any good shots but I got a fun clip to share.

We saw a fun Sea Lion show, penguins up close ( Happy Feet as my son says) and the super cool Tigers. My son so made me laugh when the Tiger splashed the audience he said "No Cat Cat You Stop That" so funny!

We rode a ton of rides! My son loved it. We went into the Butterfly house that was closed last time we went and it was amazing. My son was trying to grab them and then karate chop them so our trip in there was a quick one but still so wonderful.

If you live in Nor Cali or planning a visit during the weekend of October Six Flags Fright Fest is a fun experience!
