Hormel vs Oscar Mayer: Natural Lunch Meat Taste Test

In our house we try our best to avoid nitrates in our food. We recently began to purchase nitrate free lunch meat for sandwiches. We purchased two brands to find out which brand we enjoyed more.
Oscar Mayer Natural Oven Roasted Turkey Breast won in our house. We preferred the flavor, thickness of the slice, and smell of the Oscar Mayer.


Hormel Natural Choice Oven Roasted Turkey Breast was slightly pinker in color, which I did not like, the slices were too thin and it did not taste as good as the Oscar Mayer.

The Oscar Mayer does cost a little more than the Hormel but its worth the price difference. I definitely recommend trying to reduce nitrates in your diet by purchasing the Oscar Mayer Natural Oven Roasted Turkey Breast.
